Regarding the upcoming DCS update, especially in the weapon section for:

Weapon behaviour will see several important fixes, particularly for the AIM-54C's lock reacquisition issue.

Has it something to do with the following link or different?

HB has moved "AIM-54 - Missile API and Control Schema" (AIM-54 - Missile API and Control Schema on Heatblur Public Roadmap | Trello) from "Coming to DCS: F-14" to "Shipped with 2.9".

Has it been addressed in 2.9.8.1107 with the following task?

I think we're currently able to lower the hook at any speed.  Wouldn't there be restrictions/consequences for doing that in real life?  Be nice to have that modelled.

I love that the hook can shear off if you try and trap at too high a speed.  Makes a cool/frightening sound too.

Why would there be restrictions or consequences? It's just a titanium rod. Doesn't have anything on it to cause drag like a flap or a wheel.

IIRC the hook has a 450kt limit but we know in practice that was regularly exceeded during SHB. Especially with Nasty's 600/600 SHB.

Apparently in real life, above a certain speed, around 300kts, the hook will blow back and not extend fully.  Also, the hook transit light will remain lit in that case.  I don't think it does any damage, though.   There are videos showing Tomcats flying with the hook not full dropped.

TO FIX:  Hour hand repeated in teh 1 o'clock position at night.

TO FIX:  The Abort Launch switch has ceased to function.  Perhaps indicates this system is being worked on with Supercarrier/Deck Crew functionality.

Forgive me, but I find this wording a little confusing.  Perhaps it should read something like: 'Clock: Duplicate hour hand present with illumination.'

 

With regard to the Abort Launch Switch; I don't have the F-18 module, so don't know if it's an issue for them.

Negative, that's the minute hand you're pointing to.  The issue is the additional stationary hour hand at the 12 o'clock position.  If you turn down the instrument lights and then up again you'll see what I mean.  It's only when I saw it on Discord the other day that I realised, and thought it was something we could add to the fix list.  Thanks.
