Hi there,

On random I have noticed that the TPOD (and I believe it's also related to the HARM/HTS Pod) starts losing my target and aiming in some random direction for no reason.

I have provided two images.

I aim at a target (on WP3) and then press TMS UP, and i get a "target" but then this target changes every few seconds to some random target that is in this case behind me.

This stopped when i took a new plane. But there was no reason for this to happen. I have landed and repaired the plane, reloaded it and didn't have it fixed. So I'm suspecting its a bug.

In the second image, you can see there is a “slew” on the TPOD by the fact that CZ is on the right hand set of buttons on the MFD.

if you click that, does the TPOD go back to where you expect it to be looking?

It does but then in a second or two goes back... It seems it cannot keep the target in focus. But maybe it is an alignment issue? I did have that time something like 2/55 (aprox)

I encountered the same issue last night. While I don't have the replay track, I do have a recording of what happened: https://streamable.com/hakygw .

At 6 seconds, I designate a target for my CBU-105 in PRE Mode (after that, I don't touch the TMS hat again). The TGP remains in Point Track, but as I maneuver and the sensor goes into masking, it loses track and begins drifting. At 1:45, I release the CBU-105.

Towards the end of the clip, you can hear my wingman (apologies, it's in Italian) telling me that the cluster bomb landed far from the designated target , in a forest.

EDIT : I've noticed that a 1:43 the pod automatically point tracks a forest without me pressing the TMS hat..Don't know if that might be the cause of the issue..

Yes, I have encountered something similar before, very unpleasant. I'll check again, maybe that's exactly what it is.

EDIT:

something like the example?

I had the same issue (I guess) today in the Gamblers campaign.

When selecting my target waypoint, the TPod does not slew to it. I press "CZ" and then the TPOD slews somewhere behind my plane, but never on the selected Waypoint. Switching waypoints back and forth doesnt solve the problem. As soon as you click on "CZ" the TPod is looking to a far away point to the rear.

Therefore the mission was not playable since it was supposed to be a JDAM strike on a pre-planned target.

Since it is a campaign mission and you have to play the mission to get to the point I can´t attach the track, since it is 87mb big. I saved the track, so if anybody wants the track send, just PM me.

Before you call everything a "bug": RTFM & try again! Thank you. :music_whistling:

I just experienced this today, but not sure if related as it was the entire SPI jumping to a point 130nm West of my position, rather than just the TPOD jumping. CZ would place SPI back on waypoint, but a second or two later it would always jump back to this strange point 130nm away. TMS-down would put me back on STPT, then suddenly jump to mystery point. I tried designating new SPI via JHMCS and HUD, however those too would jump to the mystry point after a second or two of designation. I never got it resolved.

I have just done the training missions, and also experienced weird tpod behavior. Sometimes it jumps to some random place instead of being slaved to a STPT.

I will try to get a track but something is going on here.

Same thing is happening to me. Unfortunately I don't have a track, it happened during a multiplayer game.
For example, I attack a target in WP1. I change to WP2, but TGP stubbornly turns behind my back (no WP1). There is no way to cancel it. FCR also sticks to the point behind my back.
