Flying.Panda Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Dear DCS, Loving the Apache, great job! I would like however, to be able to lower the sun visor on the helmet. This is especially useful when wanting to use the TADS through the HDU during the day. The helmet visor then allows for a darker background, making it easier to see the TADS image on the HDU. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Jeroen 8
Tyrant07 Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Can we get a dark tinted visor for the pilot and CPG? I've seen multiple IRL pilots say there is advantages to using the visor and the IHADS FLIR during the daytime. Right now the FLIR is pretty washed out in during the daytime and I feel this would be a nice addition to the module. 3
Crash * Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I would also very much welcome that. It should also be possible in real life. At least the CPG should have the possibility to fold down a visor with smoked glass to see the TADS better during the day. 2 System Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 6900 XT, 64GB RAM // Tobsen CM Kollektiv, VPC CM3 Throttle, VPC WarBRD Rudder Pedals, VPC T-50 CM2 + WarBRD Base VR: HP Reverb G2 Helis: UH-1H / KA-50 3 / Mi-8 / Mi-24P / SA-342 / AH-64D / OH 58D / CH-47F Jets: F-5E / F-14A/B / F/A-18C / MC-2000 / A-10C II / AV-8B / AJS 37 / MIG-21bis / F-16C / F-15E / F-4E Maps: Nevada / Persian Gulf / Normandie 2.0 / Syria / South Atlantic / Sina / Cold War Germany WWII: Spitfire / WWII Assets Pack Tech.: Combined Arms / NS430 / Supercarrier Waiting for: BO-105 / Tornado IDS / Eurofighter
llOPPOTATOll Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 This would be an incredible addition and it would make using the HDU with the TADS a lot easier
corbu1 Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Yep, would like this as well! Using PNVS at daytime would be possible. Robi Hobby Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 When you're at it. The CP/ Gunner has a second Lip Light Battery Pack - Nylon Pouch. This is wrong. The ANVIS Pattery Pack of the Switches is not Silver but Black. I asked a real Apache Pilot and none fly with an Anvis 9 Night Vision device during the Day. The Counterweight is also not attached to the Helmet during the Day.
sorcer3r Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Has someone tried to mod (darken) the IHADSS glass texture? Mabe a workaround that could do it [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
elmo Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Does anybody know if a switchable helmet tinted visor is on the horizon for the 64 please.
Floydii Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Would be ace for the CPG displaying TADS in Thier monacle.
corbu1 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Just watched the Mig-29 navigation vid. The module will be equipped with a working pilot‘s visor. I‘d love to see this in the Apache as well. That would be amazing! 3 DCS Version: 2.9.19.13478 Modules: UH-1H - SA342 - KA-50 BS3 - MI-24P - MI-8MTV2 - AH-64D - CH-47F - OH-58D - UH-60L(Mod, n.i.) - OH-6A(Mod, n.i.) - A-10CII - F-16C - F/A-18C - AJS37 - F-14 - MiG-21bis - JF-17 - Mirage F1 - MiG-29A (prepurchase) - C-130J (prepurchase) - FC2024 -Combined Arms - Supercarrier - NTTR - Normandy2.0 - Channel - Persian Gulf - Syria - SA - Sinai - Afghanistan - Kola - Iraq - Cold War Germany — Waiting for: BO-105 - AH-1G/F(Mod) DCS-Client: 9800X3D, 64GB 6200, RTX3090, 1TB M2 NVMe(win10), 4TB M2 NVMe(DCS), VR VivePro2, PointCTRL, VaicomPro, Wacom Intuos S with VRK v2Beta DCS-DServer: 11600KF, 64GB 3600, GTX1080, 1TB M2 NVMe(win10), 2TB M2 NVMe(DCSDServer), DCS Olympus Simpit: NLR Flightsim Pro Cyclic: TM Warthog Grip with 30cm Extension + VPforce Rhino FFB FW Stick: TM Warthog Grip and Base, Throttle: TM Warthog Pedals: Komodo Sim. with Dampers Collective: VPC Rotorplus+AH-64D Grip Other: NLR HF8, Buttkicker (3*MiniConcert), TotalControls AH64D MPD‘s and EUFD, Alain Dufour’s AH-64 TEDAC, TM MFD, Streamdecks (1*32,3*15,1*6), VPC CP#1
Tom P Posted Wednesday at 11:09 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:09 AM Would be nice to see this eventually be added to the ED modules. And it's been request many times. We know it shouldn't be that hard as a previous dev team was able to add it within a patch window. 2
Czar Posted Wednesday at 12:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:48 PM (edited) Yeah. With a high value FOV, any hour near noon is quite harsh on the eyes inside the Apache to the point that any mission that features a midday or close mission start time becomes unattractive. Gamma on my end is at 2.0 (-0.2 from default). Black levels are low on my monitor for taste and there is no washed out colors look on my image (calibrated monitor for work). Still is pretty harsh on the eyes. Edited Wednesday at 12:49 PM by Czar

Yes, ED hinted at the functionality coming to their other modules too, so hopefully we will get working visors for all ED modules on MiG-29's launch day! 11 minutes ago, Czar said: Gamma on my end is at 2.0 (-0.2 from default) Yeah for ED modules I put gamma at 1.6 (during daytime missions) to put the colours and brightness of the outside world while looking outside in the cockpit, at the same level than external view is when gamma is at 2.2. DCS lighting is weird... With working visors such shenanigans will no longer be needed. 2 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON

Mausar Posted Wednesday at 02:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:06 PM Most annoying thing when you check map and go back to cockpit everything is bright as hell aka real life.... If I check map in real life I don't get half blind.

When it happens I switch to F2 external view and then back to cockpit, and that seems to limit the time of the overexposure... 1 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
