As far as I know you aren't going to hunt me down at home and beat me with a shillelagh for asking...

Airspeed callouts every five or ten knots.  Really useful when my head is out of the cockpit but we really need to keep the speed up.  Can't imagine a situation where that might make a difference...

Supposed to be a two person crew.  Crew resource management; I do this, you do that.  Come on, Jester, do that.  Do something🙃

Agreed, Jester should be making airspeed call-outs at least during the landing phase.

Airspeed callouts during dogfight are planned. During AG they are already added for the next patch.

For landing, he can call out altitude, soeed doesn't matter, you are supposed to ride the AoA tone down. (IRL WSOs didnt do these assisting callouts during landing actually)

I just wish he wouldn’t use the Lords name in vain.
Come off it! We've heard you now. I could tell you a thing or two about facts of life. But I ain't gonna get myself warning points for religious discussions here, which are not allowed for good reasons.
Do better! Cheers!

Airspeed calls during a fight every 5-10 KTS may be a bit much! The rate of speed decay could give you a constant stream of speed calls.

Every 25 KTS down to around 225 would be better, any slower would just get a call of “airspeed” (as long as gear is up), more insistent and with more urgency the closer to tone you get, by then your primary alert should be tone.

Airspeed is of no use to you on the landing phase, the F4 should be flown by AOA on landing like a navy aircraft at the boat. AOA doesn’t care about aircraft weight, if you fly the correct AOA you’ll always be at the appropriate airspeed for your weight.

Dang it, you're always one feature request ahead of me!  Well...except he's still not going to be my auto-pilot in a pinch.  🙃

I hadn't thought of that. There is really no reason you shouldn't be able to tell Jester "Take the controls" and have him continue straight and level.

I've read in a couple places the WSO/RIO did just more than that.  Visibility is crap, but there's the whole IFR thing, so he should be able to maintain a bank, or even orbit a point on the ground.  Neither of those seem over the top from a code perspective for a company that models the filaments in light bulbs.

HB says no, and realistically he is just a software crutch for lack of a real GIB.  There's quite a bit in the pipe for Jester and the aircraft; I'm pretty sure their feature list is pretty full right now.  It'll be fun to see where all this goes.

Yep, agree. That's why I was thinking small with just straight and level. :shifty:

My father, a retired F-4 WSO, and my Stepfather, retired F-4 Pilot both disagree.  WSO would calculate the landing speed, and make airspeed calls from pattern entry to the ground...yes AoA tone was followed but not Always

Having an AoA indexer and not using it seems like having a power drill and opting to use a hand cranked one, don’t know why you wouldn’t use it unless it was unserviceable for some reason.

(note that you do have an autopilot that can do exactly that)

I know, but I fly in VR with point ctrl and reaching behind to throw the switches is a pain. I should just map a HOTAS switch, but I haven't gotten around to it because I don't really use the autopilot anyway. Stupid, I know. Please don't judge me. :sad_2:

So you want heatblur to modify jester because you haven’t bothered to assign two autopilot switches to your HOTAS? 😂

Negative, Ghostrider. I just said it’s something Jester could be made to do. The poor guy is taking so much flak, i thought it would be something helpful he could do. I don’t really care one way or another. :matrix:

Some countries drive on the left, some drive on the right.
They both get where they’re going.

Neither is wrong, Back seat Brian can calculate as a cross check. The audible indexer is mainly used for ease - it will always give tone at the correct angle for weight. Fly the tone on finals to land (amongst other things that tone can be used for).

If mental arithmetic is your thang’ then by all means, calculate your “on speed” and perform a greaser.

Can Jester CRM manage emailing clients and tracking event participation?  Does the Jester CRM come with its own payment processor, or can it integrate with other payment processors?  Can Jester CRM integrate with Asana, or Quickbooks?

I had no idea Jester was a CRM but I'm stoked!

M for management is the same, but C & R should be “Crew Resource”.

Unless Jester has ideas for his next career.

Might have to replace a few of Jester's color commentary with Monty Python quotes; at least those are funny.
