On the Discord the team said that you don't need both, simply download the "Afghanistan", do not the download the "South" option as well.

i purchased the fullghanistan map, but have to choose between southwest and full in content manager. if i try to mark full only, nothing happens. if i download southwest it downloads 58809 MBytes of data. not sure if thats south or full - i only bought full of course.

Hi, I was offered both Southwest and full Afghanistan in module manager, I checked just the full Afghanistan module and unchecked Southwest, all was fine.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me. When I check only Afghanistan, nothing happens afterward. If I check only Southwest or both, something gets downloaded. I think at the moment there isn't any difference between them anyway, but with the next expansion, I would like to be sure to have the full map. After all, I did pay for it.

Hi again, as I still have both stable and openbeta installed and did not updated the stable one, I checked was happens if I choose SouthWest + Full Afghanistan. The outcome was the same just copied 84 Gb from Openbeta and installed Full Afghanistan.

FYI! OpenBeta does not exist anymore. So if you updated the installation you call OpenBeta, it's just the latest version anyways, and it's not even called Stable.
Cheers!

Technically the Open Beta still exists and works just fine. It just receives the exact same updates as the Stable nowadays.

If you have the open beta version still do not worry, it will continue to be the same version as the stable version and update at the same time. You do not need to do anything.

thank you

Is it not wasted space?

Do you have both? If you have both versions you can delete the open beta version.

If you only have the open beta version you can continue with it as normal and it will receive the same updates as stable

I have only ONE DCS World folder, what used to be called OB, within that folder I have the /bin-MT AND the /bin folder, it would seem redundant to maintain the /bin folder, especially if the files within this folder are also constantly being updated?
Thanks

Hi, if you only have one install keep it, it will continue to download the latest updates. Do not delete bin folders they are required and should not be deleted.

feel free to pm me if you need more help

Pretty sure the Updater will nuke the ST version when it's depricated. I will also assume it will rename the installation folder to DCS World. Remove or empty the dcs_variant.txt file. Also rename the DCS.openbeta folder under Saved Games. Hopefully it will check for and "backup" any remaining DCS folder in case people still have data there if one had both versions installed.
Cheers!

I still have both versions installed, but I always use OpenBeta. Is there a problem if I uninstall the stable one and keep the Openbeta? I have all HOTAS configurations, mods, settings, etc. in the OpenBeta and that's why I'm interested. Will it cause any problems in the future?

For all intents and purposes they are seen by Windows as separate programs on your computer, so unless you have your own specific reason to keep both (for example updating one to the latest version while leaving the other older just in case you don't like the patch), deleting one shouldn't cause any issues with the other.
