As it happened months ago and it was reported in some topics like this one here:

This last V68 (beta version) is producing exactly the same issue. When trying to load DCS it crashes to Windows during the splash screen and asks to report it as usual. Here is attached one of the many report files created, I tried all the usual stuff, repair, clean, no mods, etc etc. The thing is that yesterday it was working and the only change was the new PTC v68 (PC app). After coming back to V67 DCS was working again without any issue. @BIGNEWYCould you add this to the things to look into, as this will create a problem in the next weeks when v68 is officially released and we will see the same "show" as the last time.

If someone could double check this situation it would be much appreciated.

Not again! @BIGNEWYhasn't the dev team put something in place to stay ahead of the game with this? Does ED not have a Meta developer account to at least be informed if/when changes need to be made in DCS?

Please tell us that this will be addressed swiftly this time, as it was over a month before a fix was released last time.

Do you use OpenXR environment?

Ah, I see in log --force_OpenXR

Guys, please attach your options.lua (I can't reproduce now on Q3, drivers 68.0.0.325.361 (68.0.0.325.361))

Did you sent automatically generated crash-reports into our base?

And finally: do you use OpenXR Toolkit when launched DCS?

Please note the crash seems to happen when openXR tool kit is active.

Well, I have been testing and yes, OXRTK is the one "messing" with the V68 meta link app so if you disable it DCS works as expected.  If you open it with OpenVR, it works as well.

However, there is a potential problem incoming, as I tried opening DCS with the QuadViews app in the background only. It is also messing up with the V68 meta link app and crashing to the desktop the same way OXRTK is doing, so, unless the new changes/hotfix that is incoming has any effect on this issue or unluckily there´s going to be a "high" number of meta quest users not able to use any form of QuadViews (FFR or DFR) while playing DCS.

Same problem here, ive sent several automatic reports some hours ago, and can attach it here.

Unstallimg openxr seems to have solved the issue for the time being.

Then, it may not be ED's responsibility to resolve. If that's true, I apologise for jumping to conclusions too soon and blaming ED @BIGNEWY.

dont worry, it needs to be checked and we do have a report open for it.

It just seems odd that these issues start occurring at weird times, not directly after the update. I’ve uninstalled DCS and am going for a fresh install. It’s going to take a few days to complete but I hope it’ll be worth the effort.

A little bit more insight in regards of V68 meta app in conflict with OpenXRToolkit:

Edited: Btw @BIGNEWY, there are some details there on how to overcome the bug there, could this be passed on to your developing team so they can give it a go? Many of us, if not most Meta users, depend on OpenXRToolkit to get the best from DCS. Thank you.

Good insight, but no, none of this is actionable by ED, that's not code they have any reach into.

Good to know, sorry I was misled by this comment then, obviously I don´t know much about it.

I wonder if this is at related to the spinning hourglass icon I continue to see loading into a map or spawning into an aircraft with my Meta Quest Pro?

The patch gave me back hand detection to use on the interactive cockpit jets.  (I need to shut that off, apparently inside the Oculus software?)

I am also sometimes getting so long freezes if I move my head way over, like to setup the systems before takeoff.  I moved my head way to the left in the F-4 to check the left side switches and got a very long, 3 minute long freeze that eventually let go.

I'm also noticing if I hit the F2 view, I am beneath the aircraft, not off to the side as usual.  I am seeing the F10 map move a bit too with headmovement.

I flew for a few hours last night with friends and one had 4 crashes in a row with his Pimax Crystal.

So I am not entirely sure what's affecting my issues - Meta or DCS World?

But - I am back flying.  I noticed my OpenXR FPS counter went away but using the DCS one, I am seeing a pretty solid 90 FPS.

I've given up with meta software. I tried VD again since the v68 update and it's running very well. I am fed up with meta constantly breaking things.

As a quick fix, you can reinstall the Oculus link software which will start as v.67. It will download the upgrade but won't install it unless you approve it.

Of course, don't forget to disable auto-update as soon as the program starts!

Today I downloaded v68 (Cable Link) from Meta and DCS stopped starting. I see that it was in the changelog 😞 :

According this info could be @mbucchia's OpenXR Toolkit issue which is causing CTD now? I dont use Quad-Views-Foveated/DFR btw.

There are many threads about this. Meta introduced a blatant bug in their update that breaks many of the OpenXR API layers out there (OpenXR Toolkit, QVFR, HTCC, OXRMC...). Then after I reported the issue to them, they ignored me.

Time to move to Virtual Desktop, where the developers care and properly look after their software.
