JST Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 No textures, parts like the safety have been very simplified since the actual shape drove me almost crazy. grunf Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 My first ever plane model, done in Blender a few months ago. It has several errors that I wanted to fix, but never got around to it. It was supposed to be an Airbus 320 :D
SMan Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 To make models for DCS, does one have to use 3DS Max or will something like Blender work? I saw some mention of plugins, etc for 3dsmax somewhere else, does that mean without similar addins/tools for Blender it can't be used?
joey45 Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 The only tools/plugins avaliable are for 3ds max. But not for all versions tho. ostheim Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 You can make models in for example, Blender or Maya, and then export them to 3DS Max to do the collision and materials and official edm export.
joey45 Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 yes. You only need 3ds max to export in the .EDM format. Farlander Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Just got started with 3dsmax again after starting out in blender.. and i have to say, now i feel 3dsmax is less intuitive :/ some features (like actually being compatible with dcs..) makes it better in some situations though. My question right now, how would you go about making the planes with the reference images uneditable/unselectable? It's not possible to set up the references in the background? i tried but it didn't seem to work.. 3dsMax 2015.
