Meta acknowledges bug with OpenXR API layers in v68

I received confirmation from Meta that the issue in their runtime preventing usage of OpenXR API layers such as OpenXR Toolkit, will be fixed in v69, and they are taking steps to add specific tests for this scenario

That's good news. It's a pity they didn't listen to you before making V68 the public release version.

They were probably already committed to a timeline and may not have been able to fix it in time or had the resources available.

Also moved to VD, DCS is now running fantastic, steady 72 fps on Quest Pro.

Good news to hear. I did the folder rename hack to block the update hoping that it still works. I also use Virtual Desktop as my backup if needed.

He has/did write a wired version of VDxR. I think it has limited capability and I don't think he is actively supporting it. I tried to find the link but haven't found it so far.

I'm a quest pro user.. basically a wifi router,  virtual desktop, quadviews and openxr tool kit? Is that all that is needed to be running now?

Yup. Although Quad views and OPXRTK are, of course, optional.

Yeah, I think I agree that VD is the way to go. I hate having to play over wifi and really wish there was a wired-option, but I think it is preferrable to the Meta Link software.

It's better over wifi. Being free of the cable is terrific! If you need to keep your headset charged, use a power bank battery. I'm using one of these:

get the virtual desktop app on quest store.. u might find someone that has a friend discount code.. but u also need a proven wifi 6E or 7 router..
