NVIDIA setup and DCS

Just reinstalled 560.94 drivers for my 4080s Geoforce RTX.

Now i wonder if i should utilize Experience, Aorus Engine,  and Control Center, and why ...

i personally use experience for videos. others have noted they only use drivers because of problems it causes with their systems. i do not have any hardware for aorus and not sure what you mean by control center. talking about Alienware? my current driver is 561.09.

I don't use Experience anymore, I've switched to the Nvidia app.

Control Center is some add on from Gigabyte i think.

Only if you 100% positively need them for anything. Geforce Experience (Legacy), Aorus/Gigabyte, Logitech G-Hub, Corsair iCue.....

all that crap that runs in the background can be a potential source for latency, frametime spikes and overall problems. Emphasis on "can". If possible, I would keep my system as light and free of bloat as possible.

Well, just tried the NVDIA app ,,, it screws up at least my DCS controllers.

eh? interesting. have you had this controller issue ever before?

in case you are interested, this little app is good for making backups of critical DCS files in your Saved Games folder. i do the "backup input folder" and "backup config folder" each time i make a change.

Well, just tried the NVDIA app ,,, it screws up at least my DCS controllers.

In what way does it do that? It's just an overlay, doesn't use any controller inputs, while some of the default keystrokes are identical to DCS ones.

f.i. Shift-F2 opened the app instead of some view function. BTW i have view functions like F4, LCntr+F4 and F2 reprogrammed in regards of other sims like IL2.

PS i used the old app version only for the record function so far.

Right, so it didn't mess up your controls settings. But unfortunately, there are conflicts. That's happens a lot. I.E.For some reason SRS uses LCtrl + LShft + Esc, to open it's overlay. That's the default Windows setting for opening Task Manager. Conflicts will always happen.

You can disable the NVIDIA overlay in the app

Which is the last stable version? I have the latest 561.09, and it stutters quite a lot. It stutters for a couple of months (although I fly very rarely lately).

there is a newer version of driver 566.03

I have to do the unistalling 1st (DDU) to clean this mess, and then do the new installation, I will go with the latest build I guess.

Last is 560.94 me thinks, but that's on the site for my Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 4080s.

NVIDIA usually has later versions, but i learned that usually the branded ones work better with the  GPU they're meant for.
