So, MiG-21PFM, modernized PF, M, MF. Another thing: Kh-66 never had name Grom, even Kh-23 didn't had that name. Yugoslav variant of Kh-23 produced under Soviet licence had name Grom..... Thanks for pointing out wrong name, which can only add to suspicion on not enough research when Magnitude decided to use it. Yak-38, MiG-23, MiG-27, MiG-21PFMs and Sukhoi family aircrafts operated kh-23/kh-66 (Zvezda). But not MiG-21Bis, as radar RP-22 is based on fixed beam instead of continues wave (CW). Maybe Yugoslavia upgraded Bis on their own. But I didn't see Grom listed in Yugoslav air force manual for L-17 (Mig-21bis).
Art-J Posted Saturday at 04:20 PM Posted Saturday at 04:20 PM It wasn't a question of insufficient research, the original Leatherneck dev team simply decided to add it for gameplay reasons, just like UPK gun pods, which weren't used on real Bis either. But it's all too off-topic here and was discussed many times in -21 section of the forum, back in 2014 when module was released. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

But I agree, we are off topic and we should stop.
DragonSoulkin Posted Saturday at 09:55 PM Posted Saturday at 09:55 PM (edited) I'm still waiting for an answer as to what particular manual that is referenced in the FAQ as available on Amazon, is used in development of this aircraft for DCS. At this point it's obvious my question is just being blatantly ignored. Why is this such a hard thing for you guys at ED to answer? Seriously, all I want is to order a copy so I can read up on the material that's directly involved with the development of one of my favorite aircraft and to add it to my collection. For what reason are you keeping that a secret? Edited Saturday at 09:56 PM by DragonSoulkin

For what reason are you keeping that a secret? I mean there’s only two manuals on Amazon. Both are decently priced. I bought both of them. They complement each other nicely becuase one is non combat systems and the other handles combat. Just buy both Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

If they can't release what manual they're using for whatever reason then just come out and f*****g say it already instead of ignoring it.
AeriaGloria Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM The whole Amazon manual thing is just plausible deniability. Those two manuals are not enough to make a module. They are using every source they can, but saying they are using Amazon manuals to not receive un welcome attention from the government and accusations of using sensitive information. ED since being founded has no doubt accumulated a vast wealth of MiG-29 information from all over the place. But with recent developments of course they have to be careful when making a plane certain countries still use in active service or used until recently. They also don’t really read the forums. That’s for community managers and for them to pass on any info. Especially the English forums. And with MiG-29 team busy, community managers aren’t going to get every question answered with unfettered access. Volator Posted yesterday at 09:16 AM Posted yesterday at 09:16 AM Is there any difference in the two manuals? The NATO manual probably is the GAF manual that is also available from other sources, right? What is the other manual? 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven

The other manual is a translation of the Yugoslavian L-18 manual, so includes chapters on combat use that GAF lacks. 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
