I ordered the moment I saw it. I've been waiting for this beauty for a long time!

I see a lot of comments stating that the release is in to weeks? is this true? I Can't find it anywhere on the site or in the forums.

so this pre-purchase is just the purchase part minus the plane? like u dont get to get the plane in pre-release stage or?

It goes back a lot further than that. I've seen claims that Oleg Maddox, the creator of the original IL-2 series started it, by answering 'two weeks' whenever anyone asked him when new features were going to be added to the sim. I doubt that even that was original.

Yup. Early access will come later (at some unspecified time, and in some unspecified state).

Very disappointing! The mig-29 version pre-ordered this time is 9.12A, which is the export version of the Warsaw Pact member countries
This is the most primitive and worst-performing version. If it is a more modernized mig-29s or mig-29m, it will help increase sales. I don't understand why E.D. would choose the most primitive and worst-performing mig-29a? Add a highly realistic target aircraft to modern air combat? But for those who have a retro and nostalgic feeling, they will still buy it.

There is a price to pay for this! Pushing out the most original, with a retro mechanical clock-style dashboard MIG-29A version will ultimately lead to poor sales due to lack of novelty and poor performance. After all, customers are not fools

I have pre-purcased the Mig-29A, not that I´m totally happy with pre-purcase, EA and that, but this is just the way it seems works with ED if You want faster acces to DCS modules.

I just hope we don´t have to wait too long, and that the initial EA will have enough features to be fun.

I've also seen the same "two weeks" joke in the AppleTV show "For all mankind", which depicts an alternate 1960s-1970s where the Soviets beat the US in the "first man on the moon" PR race.
I don't know where the producers got that joke, but perhaps it dates back even further than we thought?

Wrong. This version is nearly the same as the original Soviet version, with the only difference being IFF and some details in the radar. The worst-performing version is the 9.12B, for non-WP countries. 

It's also the most produced, and is still being used both in Russia and in several NATO countries. MiG-29S was only produced in small numbers before the USSR collapsed, while the biggest MiG-29M operator is Egypt, with 40 or so aircraft. Russia has 10. Neither of those models would be appropriate for a wide variety of scenarios that the A model will bring.

Yes, it's a Cold War jet, lacking some capabilities that Western jets bring, notably Fox 3s. While BVR duels can be fun, IMO DCS would benefit from more Fox 1 oriented servers, in any case.
