Has anyone noticed TrackIR 5 snapping to the centered view when you get close to the 0,0 xy axis? This seems to only happen in DCS. I'm not running the v5 beta software.

try the beta software.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Tried it but there are more severe bugs in the beta software. Just curious if anyone ever noticed this in DCS before.

I don't have TIR5 only 4pro so I cant say.

I haven't noticed it before but will try it out the next time I fire up BS.

I recently switched from the 4.138 software to the Beta 5.5 software and everything is running great with my TIR4 Pro.

Perhaps it is not snapping, but maybe going through a deadband? It would seem to slow when you approach center of the axis, then speed back up as the TIR moved up, down, left or right. Try the different axis curves to see if it changes anything. It is in the TIR software, under profiles, edit...

oh, doh, if it is totally snapping to a forward view, you are leaving the coverage of the IR sensor.

Confirmed. I use track ir 5, latest beta software. Standard curves are "slower" close to center - almost like snapping. And thats the way I like it.

It's easy to drag/modify curves to increase/decrease this behavior.

Hi,

I'm not posting a profile, but I use linear axes both in TIR4 profiler and Black Shark options menu and it's great although this snapping stuff, so I can advise this to ya. The tricky one is to find out which axes should be inverted in the BS options, I found Yaw and Pitch should be. Interesting: inverting an axis in the TIR profiler takes no effect in the game. Or it's my fault...:)

So, evyone should work on his/her own profile (which can be based on others' stuff but I used other guys' X52 profiles in LO and after some flights I tweaked them for myself:joystick:), but the default linear mode is nice to me personally, I don't need looong tweaking process like my X52's axis curves (I use TrackIR 4 Pro w Track Clip Pro and not v5 beta). Maybe it should fit to ya as well.

Cheers!

Ok thx.

I got my Track IR 5 today and hat Freetrack before. It's hard to explain but even with linear axes it kind of stutters sometimes when looking around. Only little stutters. I'll play around with the settings and post my results.

It definitely shouldn't.

Be sure you don't have TIR linked to a passive HUB or something, especially if you use a reflector. Also be sure to enable vsynch in your graphics drivers to prevent image tearing.

Hm couldn't get rid of the little stuttering. It's like when you want to move your mouse after pressing alt-c with track ir enabled. Not as strong as that but annoing. Also happens in ArmA 2 must be problem of Track IR. It's directly plugged into the mainboard.

Which smoothing/speed settings do you use ?

Someone in a forum said this (not long ago):

Now all I need to do is resolve the small issue of micro stutters that were introduced with the last patch.
