F1Rocket666 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Hi everyone! I have Thrustmaster’s Dual Throttle, F/A-18 stick, and TRP Pedals. Everything works perfectly on my old computer. But on my new computer, the pedals have gone completely crazy. When I press the left pedal, it triggers Throttle Forward. The right pedal controls Throttle Backwards. Left pedal brake moves the Yoke forward/backward. Right pedal brake moves the Yoke left/right. That makes it really hard to fly... I can’t find any strange bindings in the control settings. I’ve also tried resetting my bindings, reinstalling drivers, and recalibrating everything. I have no idea what to do. Help! /Mats
SharpeXB Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) On your new computer you will need to update the hardware ID settings in the joystick .lua files. Have you done that? Redoing your control mapping is easy. Your old assignments are saved here: C:\Users\Name\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\Aircraft\joystick Make sure you save a copy of your Saved Games DCS folder when you upgrade. Go into any aircraft in your new install and assign a button for a controller, it will create a file like this: CH FIGHTERSTICK USB {8D539500-AD1C-11f0-8001-444553540000}.diff The bolded text is your new hardware ID, using Explorer simply paste this onto your old files when you copy them over. Modifiers are stored here: C:\Users\Name\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\Aircraft\modifiers.lua Replace this ID local modifiers = { ["JOY_BTN16"] = { ["device"] = "CH PRO THROTTLE USB {2796EE60-F354-11ef-8001-444553540000}", ["key"] = "JOY_BTN16", ["switch"] = false, That's all! Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Yes this is due to ED's annoying habit of automatically mapping your controls without asking for your opinion/consent first. It is a great feature for new players, as it helps with onboarding, but it is seriously annoying for the more experienced virtual pilots who have a lot more controls than simply stick and throttle. F1Rocket666 Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Hi again! It's not working for me. I tried assign a button to a controller but it doesn't create a modifiers.lua file in the aircraft folder. In my old computer where everything works, the hardware ID:s looks like below. In my new computer where my paddles have gone crazy, the ID:s looks like below. There are no "bindings" at all in the settings for the pedals. In the old computer there was a "TPR T.Pendular Rudder {5D4C6FB0-6C96-11f0-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua-file that is not found in the new computer. I tried copying it over but there was no change. I have also tried copying the entire DCS file structure (15.8GB) from the old computer to the new one but Without anything changing. Do I have to reinstall the entire DCS? Will there be any difference? What distinguishes both installations is that the pedals were not there at the time when DCS was installed on the old computer. The pedals were added much later.. When I did the new installation, all the accessories were already connected on the new computer. Help. /Mats
silverdevil Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago @F1Rocket666 one never has to reinstall DCS. a repair will always fix what is corrupted. i do not see where you renamed the DCS folder in Saved Games. you can try this. rename the folder to DCS.BAK. when you restart DCS a new clean folder will be created. you can either redo all your controls or copy them over from the BAK folder. also i made a PDF long time ago that explains the controls moving from another computer to a new one or another one. maybe this will help. https://pcwiseman.com/downloads_files/DCS_New_Computer.pdf 1 AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. Because the ID is different, the old files won't work. Either you rename the old files with the new IDs, or you go into each column for a specific PERIPHERAL, when setting up a MODULE, and IMPORT the old file, and you should be okay, while extremely time consuming. The pedals won't have a diff, before you actually make a change, and press OK. There is a script here somewhere, that will do anything automatically, even before you started your new DCS the first time. I assume it gets the IDs from the Registry, and just populates new files. Manually, SharpeXB's instructions are the correct ones.
