PeterP Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I used many translation programmes but I wasn`t able to find something like "gem". Is it a British shorty for longer words? gem = der Edelstein, das Schmuckstьck, das Juwel, das Kleinod (aber auch Hefebrцtchen,Brцtchen im amerikanischen engl. ) :smilewink:

Tomcatz poprosił o tłumaczenie dla "Gem". To, co zrobiłem. W języku angielskim, to nie ma sensu! :smartass: Edited September 30, 2009 by PeterP
czarnyolek Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Well done PeterP, we've got multilingual people here ;)
crazyeddie Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Tom - your question has been answered above (I think) - I recognise the word "juwel" amongst all that other stuff ... Gem = English slang for something of value, or something of merit. Both apply in your case. Your English is pretty damn good mate, better than my German !!!
diveplane Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 for ref watch some f15s on utube take careful note of the lights. looks like the tail light on the right blinks and the inner red wing lights pulse. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.

TOMCATZ Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) Hey, thanks for translation. Well- think English is near German. But to learn German is an really ass pain job - really. Confuse grammar and most Germans don`t use it right. So I can understand that most people in the hole world like to learn English. .... oh sorry - back to topic: I created some better textures for LANTIRN LASER and Navigation pods and isolated these parts and tanks from my StrikeE. I will export these parts to use it for the F-16 for examble... http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9504/lantirn.jpg As for the lights: Well I thought that the red inner lights pulse a little bit too. So I`ll create it. Please send Me an reminder to my E mail :) http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5347/tank2n.jpg Best wishes, TOM Edited September 30, 2009 by TOMCATZ Born to fly but forced to work.
Leonski Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 First of all I love this mod it is better then the Walmis mod, but that is my opinion.:music_whistling: I got one minor detail of critic on the model and that is the nose section. But further the plane is awesome:thumbup: McDonnell Douglas ✮ F-15C Eagle ✮ // USAF 2012 // Raytheon Trophy HD
czarnyolek Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 As much as i love this model i have to say that as other Tomcatz's models smoothness could be improved. As well as material for canopy glass. You've done a great job mate, but i hope its not final product yet. Just as Your F-4, changed a lot on its way i wish this one will improve too. First of all i agree with nose shape, but i think picture from Leonski is not accurate enough (angled view), another thing is inside of main air intakes. Stands out from overall level of details on whole plane.
Boneski Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Funny when playing in the F1 View.... You can't even see that... It's kinda hard to play fight a model from the side nose view... First of all I love this mod it is better then the Walmis mod, but that is my opinion.:music_whistling: I got one minor detail of critic on the model and that is the nose section. But further the plane is awesome:thumbup: My mission is to fly, fight, and win. o-:|:-o What I do is sometimes get a tin of soup, heat it up, poach an egg in it, serve that with a pork pie sausage roll.
czarnyolek Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The point of making new 3d model is watching it from outside view :P
borchi_2b Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 the nose needs a little bit touch up. the end of the nose is a bit to high. watch the foto. it is pretty good. you can see thet the nose ends at about the same high the pitot tubes are located. 5 degrees might not be much. but you can see the diffrences in a the shape of a model. tom, maybe you can check it again :-) cheers man. see ya next week in the air http://www.polychop-sims.com
czarnyolek Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I've compiled Your model with my StrikeEagle mod and i love it :) Only thing is that if i assign your model to mig-29g slot textures on Lantirn pods dont show. How can i fix it? I thought these pods were part of plane model so textures for them would be in temptextures folder.
Vekkinho Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Czarnyolek, Your screen aspect isn't set properly, however fixing it won't solve your LANTIRN texture issue... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Leonski Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) Whats wrong with my screen aspect? Screen Ratio Aspect is wrong you can change it in X:\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config, graphics.CFG file open it and scroll down to you see these lines: DisplayMode { resolution = {1280, 1024}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.25; Interface { resolution = {1280, 1024}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.25; } Simulation { resolution = {1280, 1024}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.25; } AVI { resolution = {640, 480}; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.3333; } } I'm using resolution 1280x1024 so my aspect is 1.25. You can calculate that with 1280/1024=1.25 for example 1920/1200=1.6 so change the aspect to 1.6. This was total new for me 2 weeks ago because i didn't know that the aspect change when you have a widescreen, this is my first widescreen. TOMCATZ Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 Hello, Nice pic- thank you. My intention after I started was to follow strictly all the blueprints I had for comparisons but it was an mistake. The same old story one more time. I droped the nose down a little bit- Now it looks be right. One basic point: My philosophie is a little bit complicate so I can try to explain it. Yes, of course I`m able to make my models much smoother them they are now. But the point is (and thats my absolutely personally position) that a model isn`t good if I used hundred thousands of polys. The maintain reason is following: Most users of LOMAC have relative good hardware. But the problem is that the generally structure of processores not changed the last years. And LOMAC wasn`t concepted for more them one processor. So the load of work witch a normally computer can handle isn`t much more as years before. If anybody concept and build a aircraft, tank, missile or whatever, he have to limit the polycount. Otherwise its sure that the player will get problems with his frames while he fly. So for examble: I downloaded an Su27 (not 3GO) and installed it. I edited me and 3 wingmans in a mission over kerch and started: The result was a shutdown and my pc restarted. I searched for the mistakes and founded the failure: The Su27 builder used 270.000 polys for one fighter only! Thats the same load as like as a battle with over hundreds of fighters in the air in doghfights. Okay- the model was nice and very smothfull- but unuseable. In area of graphic cards we have much more possibilitys as years before. In 2002 (most members used DirectX8.1!) a card about 1GB RAM was simply unpayable. But now it is and so we can use much more detailed textures. So my philosophie is a good balance between polycounts and textures for a good and realistic look- And I think: Thats the real art of modding. Yes- A round and complete look is nice but I will fly with more them one fighter. Yup Borchi- We have to train the last maneuver we did with Raven. :) So- Here I have V1.5. It have some ideas and modifications just like nose, lights, lighten monitores, fixes rear pilot animations... Please make sure that you save "meinit.xlm" and "Shapes" folder before installing this mod!!!!! Please! http://remixshare.com/?file=pg9f5oy4q8snoe0 A maximum of fun while flying, best wishes and thanks for all the suport, TOM Born to fly but forced to work.
czarnyolek Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I've noticed that You rather go for high quality of textures than high poly with does give better eye effect and ido agree its right, but in this specific model, noses shape have steps towards peak, if You know what i mean. I wish it was smoother there. Besides that i absolutely love it and with who,le respect for all Your previous work, this one is the real McCoy! Gotta try 1.5 :)
Leonski Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Question, what kind of program do you use to make a model like this one? p.s. for this beautiful mod you have made for the Lock On community  McDonnell Douglas ✮ F-15C Eagle ✮ // USAF 2012 // Raytheon Trophy HD
TOMCATZ Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Thanks very much :) I use 3DsMax7-thats all. Some points to the downsload site: Its full of marketing promotion, in german only but free. There is a counter in the middle of the screen wich start. After 12 seconds the numbers of counter become to the donload link. Click it right and give the path you want to download it- thats all. Its a complete MODMAN file- So easy to handle but save your "meinit.xlm" before, please. I rebuilded the AIM-9Sidewinder and the AIM120AMRAAM as low poly models. Now the AIM9 for examblehave 269triangles and one texture about 1024x1024. Thats good for the performance. Here I have an Ingame shot: Fahrenheit starts to rebuild the GBU-15 for new course the LOMAC is a little bit undermodeled. Is there someone out there who can post some pics about that BS GBU-15, please? Think that should be the best target:) My very best wishes, TOM Born to fly but forced to work.

vanir Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Lenonski, thankyou very much sir for the information about the screen aspect ratio. I had no idea about that and was getting annoyed at my widescreen stretching all the views in LOMAC. Looks great now. TOMCATZ thankyou for all the work you've done, tremendous job, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that F4F remodelling you've done, although the F-15C suits my current campaign better than an F-15E. What I'm curious about though is whether you might be considering...remodelling the F-14 :D Or does anyone know where I can download an existing F-14 remodelling for v1.02 as the stock one is really nasty, esp compared to things like the Hornet. But as I haven't found one yet I assume nobody's done one other than the F-14D flyable for v1.12, not suitable for my setup.
