Hi

datalink lamps flashing, what does it mean??

Any EKRAN Message?

Usually Indicative of a received Datalink Transmission, in which case the EKRAN will display a 'Receive DL Target' message. Hitting the DLINK send/memory button will store the Co-Ords in the ABRIS and extinguish the Flashing Buttons.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

¿R.T.B.M? ¿Return To Base Manually? :P

And please, God, let us not behave like experts sending novices to RTFMing Land.

If you are talking about the little red numbers inside the pretty red circles then you should change your datalink id number station to the next available one or if there are already 4 people on that particular channel then you should change to another R-800 radio channel. See picture below. AbrisFlashingLights.jpg

hi,

in data link flashing means its uses in the microprocess control management,

The present invention relates generally to controlled lamp flashing systems, and more particularly to a processor controlled lamp flashing system which permits a plurality of flash lamp devices to be operated in a periodic and controlled manner from a single controller.

Thank you...

Everything is in the manual. Read it and if you still don't understand then ask your questions.

A good one would be to watch the producer notes that you can download from this websites main page [ but you have to login for that]. They are very helpful in understanding the shark with good visual aids.

RTFM is not an acceptable answer to anyone. How do you know if he/she didn't already do so. If you don't know the answer then stay clear of the thread. If you know the answer then be nice enough to actually help by answering the question. RTFM is rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Wolf I do aplogise for being rude to you. I was slighly not in the right frame of mind after meeting up with some friends about an event next we are organising next month.

Like I said, Read through the manual and or watch the very helpful Producer Notes that have been made.

EDIT: I said B not F.

Whoa there Soldier ;)

Sometimes when confronted by a Post that is Inherently Vague and Poorly phrased it's inevitable that the OP will get stepped on by someone........You Reap what you Sow. Admittedly the 'RTFM Response is a wee bit harsh in some circumstances - In others, well, there's a Time and a Place :)

As to the first Post, well, who knows whether the said manual was read/forums searched/answer sought/some effort undertaken prior to the posting of the question? Sure does not come across.......

And it may be it doesn't come across because of language barriers. Or let me ask you this, what makes reading the manual any better source of info then just asking a question from the vast knowledge of simmers we have that are glad to help someone asking a question? They are both the same thing, Viper, sources of info and accessible to all. One shouldn't have to prioritize how and when they use a source as they are all equally accessible and equally qualitative. I stand by.........RTFM is a rude answer!

No it is not rude answer :P

If for all basic things ppl ask here so what for manuals are on every copy of game? For nice looking or rather studying and reading.

If you buy TV and don't read instructions how to use it and come back to seller he won't explain you how to use it if you even didn't care to open paper instruction.

You tell me - How difficult is it to, at the outset, state that Yeah, I have searched and Yeah, I have read the manual, but I cannot seem to find the answer BEFORE asking the question?

You read the manual/search for the answer and THEN, if you still have issues, then you ask the question. Sometimes Rude is a welcome Wake-Up Call.

To me, saying "RTFM" almost implies that the person with the question either does not know there is a manual, or an extremely condescending way of being jerk.

This is just my opinion.

If all you have to say is "RTFM", the thread is better served by not replying at all. The only exception to this is if you tell someone to look it up in the manual on page so-and-so, thereby helping them find it on their own. Like my personal modifcation of the old saying goes, if you don't have something helpful to say, STFU.

My thoughts exactly. If you have nothing constructive to say please stay out of the thread. Between the manual and asking someone for the answer, neither ranks above the other in an order that should be followed. We are all sources of information just like that manual. If you don't want to answer the question or all you can say is RTFM, then stay of out of the thread and let the people that want to be here to help, help.

I don't know if anyone else had this problem but for me parts of the manual were very confusing. Take the nav numpad 2000 (whatever that thing on the right is called). I had no clue how to use it. Then one day a guy asked how on the forums and someone told him how, even answered my followup question. After that I read about that system in the manual again and it all made sense. Sometimes things can be explained better on a forum than in a manual.

There is a tutorial in game also how to use the data link. I watched it once, still don't know how to use it that good lol. I usually don't send my wingman out to recon much, that the only time it flashes for me. I think the target then shows up on the Abris? Sometimes reading the manual does not make sense to me, best way I learn is to actually do it and just start pushing buttons hehe.
