Sanch0 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) On some FC2 movies we can see missiles with two step engine. Is this an attempt to simulate more accurate missile physics? If yes, are all missiles are affected? Edited March 19, 2010 by Sanch0 PVAF "A fighter without a gun... is like an airplane without a wing" dedicated to F-4 Phantom
ED Team Wags Posted March 19, 2010 Author ED Team Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) any chance this will end up on Direct2Drive or Impulse as other places to buy the game? Yes, we plan to also release on D2D. A little tid-bit: in the last build we added variable look down clutter notch radial accuracy for AI. How accurate they notch now will depend on their skill setting. Good look with Excellent AI in a look-down BVR engagement... Nate--IRL-- Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Yes, we plan to also release on D2D. Does this include a downloadable version of Lomac? The reason I ask is that when I mention FC2 to people they love it, however having to source a hard copy of Lomac first turns many of them away. Nate Edit:- Possibility of a Steam release? GGTharos Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Depending on the AI's skill level, they will notch your missile with varying success. More skilled AI will perform a more accurate entry into the notch and thus waste your missiles with much better probability that an AI of lower skill. Eh you added what?! Could you explain that to us mere mortals in English please :) Nate [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

GGTharos Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 It's the price you pay for being able to be at higher altitude than your opponent and still be able to see him on radar. The radar will filter out anything that is moving at your speed +/- a few tens of knots (eg. +/-50kts) ... that way you only see targets that have a closure or greater than 50kts or recede faster than 50 kts, using the above example. If the bandit turns perpendicular to you, you close with him at the same speed as the ground, so he gets filtered out. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Are these the same parameters used now in FC1.12, but now the AI will fly the notch more accurately? Or are these new parameters for 2? Thanks edit: Speaking of parameters, any chance that we might get documents/charts on different parameters used in FC 2. Stuff like missile and plane performance at different altitudes that are fixed. Edited March 19, 2010 by Crunch
Rikus Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Download version of FC2 es inminent, but, with how much delay we will see DVD version of FC2 after de download version? Greetings
