New Helos?

...because people want to be vocal and express their opinion to make sure ED takes note. Now that we have a high-fi helo with DCS:BS and a dedicated striker with the upcoming A-10, we jet fans want to sway ED into a jet fighter for the next release after those 2. That's why these threads always get high jacked :) You have a high-fi helo, fair is fair, give us a jet fighter!

 

Agree, but lets face it anything ED do either fixed wing or heli will be amazing judging by BS.

 

But also - and it seems I'm in a minority here but how many threads should there being saying the same thing...'I wonder what they will do next/I want x'.

 

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz already! When they do one they'll tell you. Go back to the earlier threads, the ED team got involved and fed back when they had news but now I bet they're like jeez not another 'Hurry up with A10' or 'where's my Apache'...

 

Should be another forum for 'mindless speculation and dreaming'. IMHO of course! Like I say judging by the raft of responses every time I'm on my own...

I'd certainly love if all the aircraft in the DCS modules were of a similar background ethnically so it was more reasonable to have multi-type coop missions. A MiG-29 flying CAP for a flight of A-10s is just... weird.

As time goes on more and more air frames will be releasd of the same oragin. Just will take time. If they make it a one side sim it won't sell as well. I wish it was all US but I know that won't happen...:cry:

As for the AH-64a ED has dun work on the AH-64 in prepration for it to be a releas. But as stated befor it may have ben pushed back in favor of a more popular air frame (F-18 pleas). I would love to have the AH-64 in any varient desine. Having a pilot and CP would be way cool to do a coop mission in. :pilotfly:

I've said this many times, but I'll say it again. We don't need an Apache, or a MiG-29, or a Harrier or a Spitfire (:music_whistling:). What we need is balance.

 

I think most of us don't want to restrict DCS only to ground-attack. But trying to make it only an A2A sim won't work either. We need something in the middle.

 

After DCS: A-10C is out, we'll be balanced in the ground-attack field: one aircraft for Russia (Ka-50), other for USA (A-10C). I (and, I guess, many of you) wouldn't like to wait until they release DCS: Su-25 and DCS: Apache, so we can have one helicopter and one attack fighter, before we get some old-style fighters. Plus, there is the two-seater shortcoming in the Mi-24 and AH-64 that can pretty much kill it. This is one of the distinctive features in the Ka-50. It's a very capable helicopter, and single-seater! There's no equivalent on the USAF for it, so there wouldn't be so much balance.

 

Now that we'll get LO 2.0, Su-25 fans can have some DCS-compatible fun with their detailed systems and AFM while waiting for DCS: Rook.

 

But what about the old-school (the so-called "Top Gun Generation") pilots? Ground-attack pilots are having their share of precisely-modeled fun. It could work to release two titles made to shut us up and ruin our social life. MiG-29, F-16, F-5, Su-27, Mirage 2000 or even a Mirage III, it almost doesn't matter which one - they're all... fighters, at their very best. Why do we even bother to come here and ask? Just and only because we "feel the need... The need for speed!" :D

 

EDIT: That part in the end might sound a bit contradictory (ya think?), but let me just explain that I don't want all fighters, but instead some releases in pairs, like one NATO & one Eastern design per pair (maybe doing this as A2A/A2G/A2A/A2G and etc.), for example, just to keep everyone happy, and the whole thing balanced.

Expertly argued Lucas but couldn't agree with you less.;)

 

ED could model a flying bathtub and I'd fly it. I'd never have picked a KA50 before experiencing it.

 

One thing at a time, whatever they can do that they can do justice to, and don't rush it we want it just right, just like BS. The great thing is about ED they don't seem to be too worried about commercial demand and I think that is what makes BS so good, the focus and only doing something they know they can nail.

Let me just explain (for the nth time, where n>1000000) that ED will be releasing aircraft as dictated by what they can use from military contracts. If this happens to serendipitously cause them to release a 'pair' now and then, great, but AFAIK? It's not the plan :D

There must be some relation between the appearing of similar thread and the stars movement. Every now and then such thread comes up and it all starts again. It`s like some cycle. I can almost see something divine in their creation.

I remember reading not so long ago that someone here managed to make the Mi-28 flyable with the Ka-50 cockpit. I can`t seem to find the post or to a site from where I can download this mod. If anyone can help me, it would be great.

 

...but would you really like to fly a MI-28 with a Ka-50 cockpit? I love the appearance of the Havoc, but only with the original realistic cockpit. otherwise the sim would lack realism and would'nt be a sim anymore in my point of view.

It isn't the Mi-28 anyway. It's just a Ka-50 with some alterations done to it, including the 3d model.

That's in about what I've meant. Sometimes it's a bit difficult for me to explain things. Either way it would be not realistic and no option for me. Give me the real thing, or nothing ;).

You could activate this option to fire 'em from the Hokum as well. Would'nt be top-realistic, but still better than flying a fake Havoc with the real weapon.

Nope, not even close lol, no offense to any one here, I prefer American made equipment, since I was trained on them. I want the AH-1Z or W I can't remember which one, The one I worked on was the mod s for the Army.

Do I believe we will ever see it, nope not a chance in hell, but I do dream some :)

Sorry for not getting back. 15 years working on them and all that's ever been loaded is 30mm, hellfires, and rockets.(aux tanks, of course) The factory says you can load air to air but there's really no call for it.
