EtherealN Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Because they don't feel like telling us? Or because no-one in the press thought anyone would care about the exact minute it was launched? (I agree there - what's the point of that knowledge if you aren't a very well trained military analyst with advanced rocketry knowledge where tossing a minute here or there might actually alter your interpretation of the data.) And since it's launched from an area where there apparently have been several Baluva test launched previously... It's a clear-cut case in my mind. topol-m Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) The point is putting together the launch and the "heavenly ascension spiral" and see if they happen at the same time. And this missile ascends in seconds so advanced knowledge is not needed. The only thing that`s needed is info of the time of launch. Pretty simple. Or is it so secret that the military don`t want the population to know the exact time a SLBM has been launched close to shores  I mean what do you guys care, just a little missile either it is today or tomorrow :D I`m telling you the military are skinflint @sses, that`s why they are silent as a mummy. Edited December 10, 2009 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RvEYoda Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 It is due to LHC..., Half-Life story is coming.... who will be Freeman? Awesome :) S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
Boberro Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 So again Bulava failed :( ... IIRC there were more failures than successes. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ

topol-m Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 So again Bulava failed :( ... IIRC there were more failures than successes. Don`t worry about it. If they stop its development they will come with another one very fast, it`s not like they don`t have experience with ballistic missiles. ;) It could be RS-24 based  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
arneh Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Topol, but if you are testing something that is cutting edge, the only thing you'll achieve if you announce that you'll be doing a test is to tell the yanks (and norwegian NATO stations) that they should please point every surveillance gear they've got in that direction. :P Because if you announce it you reduce the possibility that it will be interpreted as a nuclear first strike :) And according to norwegian media the Russians did announce that they were going to performe a missile test. Don't want to repeat the incident in 1995 when a norwegian rocket caused panic, and made Yeltsin prepare for nuclear retaliation. From wikipedia: In 1995, a rocket from Andøya caused high alert in Russia. They thought it might be a nuclear missile launched from a submarine. President Boris Yeltsin was alerted for a possible counter strike, when the Russians understood that it was not heading towards Russia. There were press photos all over the world of Yeltsin with the launch command briefcase. The Russians were informed in advance about the launch, but this information was lost in the Russian military organisation. 1
