Hahah, and the funny thing is that in this case the "russian" doesn't even speak russian. Living in a country doesn't necessarily mean one speaks it's language - they should remember that. :P

 

I should have opted for that trip to russia instead of the station I'm currently at (though at least I have my own wireless available here) and be another "russian". Maybe I qualify as "russian" in their mind since I do know enough russian to be polite, and order food, and ask for a bag when in a russian grocery store.

 

But to be quite honest, without Russia we western sim fans (and the US ANG :D ) would be left in the cold. So russia, thankyou. :)

The genre is displaced by publishers for many years. They even tried to "attract" genre's fans by publishing flight action titles (like HAWX). Many PC game magazines/sites haven't even mentioned the DCS:BS.

 

Now DCS achieved 2nd place, gathering much more votes than Dragon Age which was one of the most anticipated games of 2009 with numerous reviews, exceptional press coverage and outstanding scores. Now we are : "Hey guys! Whats on the 2nd place? Did you "miss" something?"

 

Thats a win for DCS,ED and the Sim community!

Today I visited media superstore to buy World of Goo - far better game than DCS Black Shark :tomato: Then I deliberately asked if DCS Black Shark, a helicopter simulation, is available. One of the staff members queried the store's system and said it's not available because the game has not been officially published in Poland and that he has never heard of it. In the mean time the other one looked it up on the internet and in a second he was like "Wow! It looks good!" I wonder if he still watches YouTube videos on DCS Black Shark... :D

Killing floor just doesn't appeal to me in any way possible. I am a selective FPS fan (very selective actually now) and zombies just don't do it for me. Although the Zombie genre is FANATICAL (not in a bad way). Zombie heads will see or buy just about anything depicting zombies because they love their genre so much. Again not a bad thing, it's actually quite similar to us sim fans. A distinct medium to call their own. I have to say I'd love to have seen Black Shark top the list, but you know what outcry that would leave the FPS communities. We'd get slagged all the way back to mother Russia.

 

Again, killing floor might be under a pile of other similar games come this time next year, where at least Black Shark will be still extremely relevant inside DCS Hog and FC 2.0.

 

Best simulation and so far second place in best game of 2009...that's HUGE for our little sim community no matter how you look at it.

Yes i don't know why this game also as previous entitles as Lock on has never been published in Poland so far. :mad:
