Actually the interaction with ground units in DCS:BS not as good as it owed may be.

Ka-50 and A-10 are essentially CAS aircrafts, it would be good to see that interaction and communication with ground troops. Obviously, as realistic as in the video, it is not possible with an AI, but if something halfway.

I think remember ED published screenshots with FAC communications in the past, it would be great to see something like in the video in the DCS

There likely will be come something with DCS:A-10C. :)

...But wait: there's more. How would you like to see an AI tactical ground controller that will mark targets for you with smoke and give you a full 9-line brief? I saw it, guys. Artificial intelligence for wingmen is enhanced over what we've seen in the past, and you have more commands than ever before. Similarly, AI on the ground is commensurate in detail with their looks — they aren't just eye candy, they're here to play. You can see tanks rock back on their treads with recoil, and guns recoil in their carriages, and they do look for targets....

It may not be "realistic" in a sense, but you could have a recon KA-50 team that could spot and translate locations to Hog Pilots. Coordinated attacks could be done using smoke as well. Choppers call in locations of convoy to A-10's and time the attack out between choppers and A-10's so minimize exposure time.

Just thinking out loud. It will be tough to get live communication that's not scripted by ground troops, so that's why I suggested KA's as recon :).

Just keep in mind that AI will certainly not sound like a real person. That isn't something that's in the cards to simulate, at least, not for a long time I think (but it isn't impossible)

I think friendly forces giving an A-10 pilot their relative location (it doesn't have to be approximate)and popping smoke is do able.

For example:

Friend Forces on the Ground: Taking fire; bulls-eye 140 for 40 miles. Popping smoke.

I hope to at least see that level of interaction in DCS A-10.

I tried doing something like this on the editor but the problem is the infantry die so quick. Exact same scenario, too. You get called in, once you're 'spotted' (in range) the infantry pop smoke and tell you the enemy is northeast of the smoke.

Honestly though it would be nice to see a bit more support for infantry in this game, being that the first two vehicles we have are for supporting them :) That and being a former Infantryman myself, I have a special soft spot for supporting my guys while gunning down the others.

Yea, it would definately be nice to have a more fleshed out FO role in multiplayer with deployable smoke and whatnot. Anything ED can to that end will increase enjoyability/immersion tenfold. Given what was said in that SimHQ article, I think they are definately working on it.

How about the ability of the troops to lase targets. This must be simulated, scripted pave pennys like FC are not so nice.
