Problem with Matlab is that it is a fully dynamic language, and everything is basically a

script command. Unless you can feed all the computations into very few precompiled vector

or matrix operations, matlab will run several orders of magnitude slower in many situations,

than what a normal programming language like C/Cpp will.

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

Crunch pilotasso TAIPAN_Fahhh etc.. Su25T rules!! ;)

I hope members would take more time into this bird to really appreciate the fun of it and the work done into it. Even in Acrobatic this heavy one out class all the others..( in Lockon ) even on the ground ;)

This is a great talk guys, also since Ricardo made teh new cockpits textures it's already much better so imagine with a tight of 6DOF freedom.. "the woot" !!! :)

PS: I made this old video quite some time ago but look at it for a moment..

And this my friend, can only be donne using a fully custumized, old fashioned brain deducted smart equation systems, wich can be processed in real time, and with much much simpler calculus. Thats why it works with Su-25 AFM on current machines.

Now this is exactly what i meant in my last post. :)

... this will drastically change the battle field in Hyper-Lobby.....

Except Hyperlobby won't be compatible for FC 2! I hope the DCS multiplayer interfaced is updated soon to include a lobby and you can see the player names already in game as well.

I know Multiplayer is a lower priority, but if ED wants to keep the same MP community it has going now, this will need to be addressed or it will hurt big time. I have heard of some thoughts to add a lobby made by the community, but there will be no substitute for lobby provided in game.

edit: Just stating the obvious and only trying to be constructive. Obviously these things all take hard work. Thanks

How many of you tried to do a tale slide for example of a MiG29 or a Su27 in Lokon or a simple loop slow speed or even stall.. ? am i the only one that see the script kicking in? refusing to believe that it's bad... that is wrong like EtherealN above.

Actually, I didn't understand what you were talking about. It sounded like you were saying that the 29 was unable to perform a looping. Respectfully, sometimes it is really difficult to parse what you are saying. ;)

GG gave me an explanation though, and as long as you and he are talking about the same thing you are correct.

This is a feature what I'm waiting for.

Games live longer with good multiplayer enviroment.

I’ve watched a program on TV about the science of chaos cool-t but that’s irrelevant, how can I vote for some thing that’s inconsistent or slightly gibberish.

In my wards: do I see an exciting prospect for FC2? Yes I do.

Are you talking about the xbox360?

Because when you see it, you turn 360 degrees and walk away.

What did you like or dislike about F-C 1....????

If I was in Clacton enjoying the seaside and saw Mustang galloping on my left ha, I’d jump in the water.

What do I not like about FC in general is that it takes ages for fixes and patches and time can be somewhat of a concern (2003-2010) or 2006-2010. And touchdown details.

Very important factors like the weather which can change the perception of flight in so many ways.

However I like the overall design of air combat and the unique details of the sim. I.e. it’s so good that it’s full potential is yet to be practiced.

Generally it’s a giant plant which needs to grow into branches.

Until then, you might want to realize that it is impossible to make FC2 have "perfect" simulation, at least if it's going to be 15 dollars for the package. If you (and sufficiently many others) are willing to pay 50 dollars per aircraft, probably up-front to make sure there's financing for the whole project, then you could have those perfect flight models. And unless you want to pay that price, and wait the time, I really don't know why you are complaining so much... (Though I heard a rumor about a product that covers that niche pretty well, called DCS. :P )

Agreed.

For all you worrying about the price of 2.0, consider this:

1 movie ticket @ 20 USD = 13.33 USD/hour

1 LO 2.0 @ 15 USD - played 5 hours/week for a year = 0.06 USD/hour

I would say that's pretty fair. People should get paid for their work.

Just my 6 cents on the whole price debate.

"Generally it’s a giant plant which needs to grow into branches."

FC2.0 will bring LO into the DCS garden where it will continue to flourish and the mod community (ups to youse fullas) will continue to add branches.

I didn’t say I was incapable of b*lls**t, anyhow I would like to fly heavy metal missions in combat environment as opposed to a chopper.

I think the FM is decent considering this game was originally created almost 10 years ago.

What I really want to see (and this has plaged LOMAC from the beginning) is less bugs, things to work as advertised, basic attention to detail.

Better frame rates, less crashes, because what is the point if after investing 30 mins of your time, to have it all end with a game freeze or crash.

I would also like to see better graphics with more detail, including better weather to take advantage of todays new systems and graphic cards.

The core sim itself is really, really good, but it really needs to work better and not be buggy to be worth the time investment.

What I would really like to see (unfortunately probably not realistic) is a complete ground-up Military combat flight sim using todays technology.

Look at what LOMAC was able to do 10 years ago, imagine what can be created today with a complete ground-up built combat flight sim.

I remember back in the late 80s, early 90's , a new flight sim was created almost every year. Remember some of the classics: Jane's F18, Top Gun, F22 Stealth Fighter, etc, etc, etc.

There has not been a new ground-up flight sim introduced in a long time.

I guess playing the devil's avocate, with all the technology and what is capable today, it would take too much upfront money to produce a model ground-up combat flight sim and it would probably have to be priced out of reach for many to purchase it to recoup the R&D and make a profit. Too bad because with today's technology, it could really be something else.

lock-on was like 25 dollars when I got it and that was in 2004 and I still play it every weekend so I think that 15 dollars for a patch is a heck of a deal, for something I will play for 4 years or more... or until Ed comes out with something better.

God of war for the psp was almos 50 dollars when I got it, it was great but I was able to finish it after a few days since then, it sits on my desk gathering dust so... Lock on is been my best game inversion.:joystick::pilotfly::thumbup: that is the difference with lock-on you can still come back and try new things, that is not the case with other games.
