Just found a strange one. I was in the ME doing nothing abnormal, I go to change my plane's task from the deafault to Fighter Sweep. I do this, and the text in the task box turns bright green. All of a sudden, the map becomes very sluggish to respond. I go to try the mission and my there are strange white squares in the sky (where stars should be? It's a day mission). There is also a fuzzy black line on the horizon. My frame rate has dropped from 70 to something like 5 and my buttons don't respond properly. I have no idea what's going on. Quitting the game and restarting doesn't help. I have no mods and I'm up to date with patches.

AWACS causes ap crash

 

I have put together a medium complicated Mig-29S mission and added an AWACS into the mission

 

The AWACS was out of range so I moved it closer to the action

 

Then the AWACS caused the mission to crash the game in the same place in the mission where I began to get bandit contacts

 

I took the AWACS out of the mission and the crashing stopped

 

I don't use any major Mods only skins and texture improvements and TacView (TacView record is off)

 

but I didn't see any other complaints on this thread about AWACS causing game crash

 

the screen message from Win-7(32 bit) say's the crash is an app crash

 

Any help appreciated ? Or any one else have same problem ?

 

update;

 

I've added my crash reports from FC2/temp folder and System Administrator Application event logs relevant date for the crashes is 11/20/2009

 

Update#2;

 

Since I removed the offending AWACS I can play my mission until I've destroyed my ground targets but I've noticed some ground targets begin to become invisible

about 40+ min into the mission, They are the Vulcan AA ground units, After they become invisible the Sim will crash shortly so I usually exit before it crashes (the crash error message say's simulator.exe error or App crash)

 

I wonder if it is a Memory problem ? or a NVidia driver problem ? Any one with Ideas on how to prolong game play without crash ?

I've tried Alt-Tab but it causes my sound to crash and requires system re-boot to fix it (I'm running the game in Full-Window mode)

 

Sys Spec is, win-7 32bit, dual core cpu, 3.2gig memory, very mild OC, NVidia GTS-250, Raid-0 C:\drive

Here's something strange:

 

In my Su-33, the sonic bang sound appears way after my speed gauge indicates Mach 1.0, at something like Mach 1.1 or 1.2. Is this a bug, or my Machmeter is just poorly reliable ? :)

 

Seen that, too. Probably the sound barrier doesn't coem earlier at higher altitudes. And it doesn't matter which plane you fly. I've had this in all MiG-29s, too. At very high altitudes it was like 1.4-1.5 and still full sound in front of the plane in F2. Probably just an issue with the new sound engine.

 

Another one: Having FFB on changes the trim behaviour to just moving the centering force. But when I use the recover function, it does both the FFB and non-FFB (where the trim actually steers the control surfaces) way, resulting in a very pitchy flight.

 

When flying the A-10C, sometimes the stick centering force becomes a vibration, I have absolutely no point why. I am still trying to fugure out when this happens, but I had it 2 or 3 times already in way less than 10 flights. This made me bail out and start over as it is purely *annoying*! Haven't had this in any other plane though.

 

And since FC 2.0, we're also happy to have some kind of the good old Il-2 "FFB gone" bug after alt-tabbing out and back into FC2. DCS:BS also got this one with the new patch. Both FC1 (any version from the first LOMAC on) and BS 1.0.1 didn't have the bug. Very bad! Sometimes it'll work again, but it needs lots of tries. I can do that in SP with Pause, but not in MP. Still it doesn't give me my FFB settings then if it comes back again. It's default 100/50 then, but I normally have it reconfigured to 50/10. Please fix it right now, as I don't want to mess with this when alt-tabbing out of A-10C when it's finished :D. And if you still wonder why I need to alt-tab -> PDF manual anyone? ;) This one is extremely important for FFB-users.

Same trouble with the WP distance on the A-10 HUD, as Maximus's post #40

"A10A Hud, while in Nav/AA mode, the Waypoint/distance on HUD it will update automatic. However, when you switch to A/G mode the Waypoint/distance will not update at all, have to switch to Nav or AA to update the WP/distance on the HUD."

 

Confirmed, same for me and also does it with the latest patch 1.2.1

Speed of sound being matched to altitude is WIP for the new sound engine.

Your machmeter is correct.

 

I just want to know one thing, from anyone who has flown Mach 1+. Don't you really hear your engines inside the cockpit when doing so? I can't imagine that! And I want a proof :P

 

BTW why can I still hear the afterburner then? :music_whistling:

Bug 1 : A-10A flaps in multiplayer. When a pilot extends the flaps either half or full, other pilots will not see them down on their local machine. Reproduced a few times by just going MP and extending the flaps. Original game install, no mods except tacview.

 

Bug 2 : Unable to refuel while in a hangar, rearming works. Having to taxi out of the hangar just to shut down the engines and remove some fuel is very annoying too. Also, hangar friction is as if it was grass underneath. Occured at Kutaisi and (Novorossijk or Gelendzhik) while in A-10A not tested elsewhere.

You hear the engines inside the cockpit mostly through fuselage vibration.

1, 98% of the time the lights work fine, 1-2% of the time the lights will extended and they look like they are working, in both near and far modes, but they wont light up the ground. Near and Far both affected when this happens.

 

I been having this problem with the su-27 in a mission that I have created, when I back to the base and want to land, and it looks like the "focus" of the lights came from the tail of the aircraft :S

The weird thing is that when I create another mission in wich I start at ramp at night conditions and same fog and clouds settings, I turn on the lights and works well!!

I have this problem always that I play the mission that I mention above..

any idea?

made several missions and seems , it's not seems , it's true , the Mig numbers don't work properly i made two Mig-27 groups with #16 and #18 , and #46 #48 and i get 17 18 and 47 48 . there is another bug but i mention it again as i consider it's a bug . it's the damage model of the SU-25 nose , these damages when the nose is blown up whatever it's totally or partially are way too repetitive . isn't it possible to suppress these damages and just edit the camos a bit , would be much much better . i don't have screens right now , i'll edit when i get some , and i believe it won't last long :(

here before posting i made few attempts and i got what i wanted with less than 10 attempts and got the nose blown up several times

why not if you're fed up of supporting a 8 years old game why not for exemple make a priced patch with 3/4 new ground units , would be great and you could get easy money as lot of people are still playing Lock on

seems there's a big saving missions bug . seems when you save a mission sometimes it saves in the mission directory , but sometimes not , it saves in the temp directory so you may share an unfinished mission

 

that's sure , when you use the save button there's one chance over two that the file is saved in the temp folder . it's an annoying bug , cause if you're not aware of that , you may share an unfinished mission . i had to check again all my site missions , and i found few little errors :(

QUESTION AFTERBURNER FC 2.0

 

Hello everyone

 

From that they bought the FC 2.0 I her I have spent using the SU-25A and I started to take some other aircraft, the fact is that for example use the SU-27 and see that in the Jets does not leave the cone of the afterburner the afterburning fulljust seen the inside of the nozzle is illuminated but does not leave any cone jet propulsion.

 

Does anyone know why this happens this? there is no option to remove and put on the afterburner?

Hello all,

 

Did anyone notice that the flaps on the Russian MiG-29A don't lower symmetrically? The German or the S-version don't seem to have this problem. Flight dynamics obviously aren't affected...

bugs will never be fixed FC2 is dead. They released an unfinished product promising support and it has not happened. :music_whistling: :joystick:

 

 

 

The only way this gets fixed, is by releasing mods support tools; End Users can fix these bug for free.

 

Or release a paid FC3 upgrade.

Major Bug Starting Server

 

For months, we have been using a dedicated server. When selecting a mission in the mission selector, then clicking "Start", the program simply hangs, and goes to "Not Responding". We have never had this issue up until a few weeks ago. We have recently reinstalled FC2 (with the patch) and that has not worked. "Run as Administrator" was/has always been checked. It will randomly work, but that is maybe 1 in 100 tries. We've also tried running it as "LAN" as opposed to "Internet", which gets the server to start, however people see the server as "paused" when the server is really running.

 

Computer Specs:

 

Core 2 Duo (E5400) @ 2.7 GHz

2 GB Ram

GeForce 9800 GT

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

 

I have searched the forums and found people with similar issues, but no one has responded to them.

Options bug

 

I cant get my gaming options page to work after many many tries. I can change every option but changing them doesnt have any effect. Map options wont work. Labels wont work. How can i fix this problem

I just came back to LFC2 after a long break, hoping to see just one bug fixed, the blast deflector plates on the carriers staying up after launch.

 

Still the same as far as I can see, apart from some excellent user made Mods the game is stagnating, which probably explains why the forum is much quieter than it used to be a year or more ago, people are moving on I suppose.

 

I have never felt the need to fly the Shark or the A10 in the way that was designed so I'm off to play Il2 again, at least we can fix things on there.

Hi Folks,

 

I just installed the A-10C game and also the Flaming Cliffs 2. One thing I noticed in the logbook when you wish to create a Canadian pilot and assign a squadron, there is an error in the squadron numbers. Squadrons 439 Sabre Tooth and 441 Silver Fox are both shown as 433 which is Porcupine.

 

Is there any way to correct this, or will there be a fix in any future patches?

Joystick button assign problem

 

Game: FC2. In the options section, when I try to assign "weapon release" on any plane to my Logitech Extreme Pro Joystick, it will not let me highlight that section in the column under the Joysick. I can highlight the section on the right, under "mouse" or on the left under "keyboard", but cannot set the section under my joystick. This is the same for all planes. The problem shows up when I fly anything that requires releasing ground weapons, as all I can do is fire my cannon which is assigned to my trigger (joystick button one). I have the latest patch and have re-installed 3 times. Note: My friend gave me this computer, and before he did so, he uninstalled his copy of FC2. When I installed the first time, it did not ask me for activation code from the box. When I re-installed the next 2 times, it also did not ask for the activation code.

Communication menu

 

When in FC2, entering the backslash key will not bring up the radio menu, I tried to re assign the key. I cleared the button, But when I tried to do this and I pressed "back slash" it came up as "right bracket", when I pressed "right bracket", it came up "left bracket". when I pressed "left bracket", it came up as nothing. I then had to clear the column and reset it as default to get the "backslash" to come back. But still, when in the game, it does not give me the comm menu when I hit it. So in essence I have no radio communication. I can't re-arm, etc. I have reinstalled the game 3 times. I got this computer from a friend, who removed his install of the game. I installed my copy of the game and was never asked for the security code for the game. I am running the latest patch for the game. Other than this the game runs pretty much ok. I would appreciate any suggestions for fixing this problem. This is Lock on Flaming cliffs 2.
