GGTharos Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Lock On and DCS are two completely different products, and TBS is even more so. Lock On came BEFORE DCS (and largely before TBS). There's is absolutely NOTHING in common between the LOFC aircraft and DCS aircraft except that you call both 'flight sims'. And when I say nothing, I mean nothing ... DCS aircraft are an entirely different class and each one takes a great deal of painstaking work to develop. By comparison, it's practically fair to say that the LOFC planes are Su-27 clones with different 3D model, cockpit skins and slightly altered flight parameters. How is that? IIRC Lock on FC is basically TBS but dumbed down. Arent all aircraft in TBS at DCS Fidelity? Maybe I'm wrong... My brain isn't working right now.. vrv Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) I think to be honest it would be nice to have a dedicated fighter, perhaps a MiG-29 or Su-27/33? The chaps in 159th fighter wing would die very happily if there was a DCS Su-33. Although I would be exstatic if there was a F-16 or F-18 module, I think we have to think along other lines. If we have a multirole aircraft, say the F-16 which can move mud then who will want to fly the A-10? Personally, I would love to see a Fulcrum... oh yeah :D. The F-16 may be a brilliant multi-role aircraft but for CAS I'd take an A-10 any day over any aircraft. AH-64? F-16C 52+? Su-25t? Go ugly early :) I think the F-16 is better suited for other roles such as SEAD / DEAD, CAP, Precision Strike, Interdiction, NTISR and I just don't see it flying CAS or being a true FAC aircraft as an A-10C would dominate that role. Hornet by mandate, Tomcat by choice ;) I wonder if I get every Tomcat association and every Felix pilot, crew, etc and somehow smuggled in a F-14 from Iran to the ED Headquarters, even though I obviously don't do anything like that since I am a law abiding citizen and have never smuggled weapons and this is in no way my current project, you guys would do a Tomcat module. Actually just give me something that is carrier capable and I'm happy. But for now just get that A-10 released.
