And you think that VRS F/A-18E is spot on? It's not, infact it's no where near it and ED can do a better model. The DCS planes would be true to life in Flight Model, Avionices and ALL Systems... or as close as they can get it with minimal guess work done.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

IF ED would make an F/A-18E, which is doubtful.

VRS F/A-18E is the best SuperHornet available on PC today. Honestly, if VRS would make DCS addon I'd buy it in a second, even if it's not 100% accurate. I've read many times how inaccurate F/A-18E is, but only once I've read what is wrong with it - from a guy who had a pirate copy with flight dynamics augmentation turned off :music_whistling:

More than doubtful!

But I wouldn't mind taking a F/A-18C instead... :D

Hey Folks,

Nice to see such lively discussion ... proves our hobby is alive and well.

For myself I would like to see some varient of the SU-27 (the plane that started ED sims), or the SU-25t (the jewel in the crown of LOMAC), or the F-16 blk 52.

Cheers

PS: My sincerest best wishes to the ED team for entertaining me all these years with these superb sims.

I would be grateful to see an F-15E Strike Eagle with both seats (front/back) and every mode working (like the one Jane's Combat Simulations did in 1998.

How would you model front and back seats of any jet? Have the AI fly the jet when you switch to the back seat position?

The next aircraft is obviously the F-16. ED already has a contract with the USAF, and the F-16 is the premier multi-roll fighter of the USAF. ED DOES NOT have a contract with the Navy. The Navy flys the Superhornet.

The F-16 is a widely recognized aircraft. There is LOADS of information of the F-16 in general, and with the USAF contract....well you get the point.

I cannot wait to see an F-16, no matter what the variant.

It's sure that the next plane will be the F16?

It's not for sure the next plane will be F16, that's an individual's estimation based on his own logic derivative ;).

It is not yet known to the public what the next module will be.

No

We will know the plane or helicopter after the official release of DCS: A-10C. Be sure to look in the "Official Updates" forums for any official announcements.

Remember this thread is just for fun and not official. Use it to increase the number of your posts :P

German Eurofighter (would love flying under the iron cross) or F-18 would be great for the next DCS: Modul. ... or DCS:Leopard 2A6 would be awesome ; ))

I don't think there's any room for WWII aircraft in the DCS series...might screw up multiplayer compatibility a bit heheh

That would be a real shame, I would like to see some classic WW2 plane given the DCS treatment.

I think the proposed list is a bit Predictable, seen them all before :(

I would prefer more obscure and quirky aeroplanes like the black shark :)

Do you know a military entity or DoD contractor who wants a DTS simulator for such an aircraft? No? Probably won't see it in DCS then.

Well the Bug is my emotional favorite- but I realize it might not be possible to do it right (at this time).. I'm sure ED is aware of how badly the F18 is wanted- and would do it if they could.. it's money.

The F16 makes the most sense if you're in the prediction business.. I'd be happy with that...

I don't have any particular sparkle for any of the Russian aircraft, but if I had to pick- Flanker or 29K. I reckon us Yanks would be heavily reliant on "mouse over labels" to learn a clickable russian cockpit.. stilll.. I'd buy it..

I put a ex-Iranian F-14 Tomcat on their doorstep but they didn't do anything. Do you know how much work was involved trying to get that thing there? I spent half the year just going through logistics. It's not my problem you can't move it. Who needs the front door anyways? Wait...I probably got the wrong address.

Oleg's Storm of War Battle of Britain is set to give the WWII era of air combat a SIMILAR type of treatment DCS is given us with modern day aviation so you might be better to wait for that release than hopefully seeing it in DCS. I am REALLY looking forward to that title because WWII air combat is of particular interest to me (I EFFING LOVE IT).

I think having the military contract aspect of the whole ED series gives it a real CHARM of reality and a dose of authenticity. Some may find it limiting (what aircrafts come next etc), but in terms of study sim it's as good as you can get.

I don't think so. There won't be full startup procedure for example. I think it will be a survey, not study sim, Oleg said few times on yellow forums he don't want to/don't have funds to make high end aircraft simulation, but want to focus on combat. There will be some engine management though.

It's tough to model every detail though when you have multiple aircrafts upon release. Spits/hurri's, 109's, 110's and one or two bombers on there as well. Requires way more resources. Hopefully there is a simplified version of the startup, mixture, mag switches, contact etc.

You're right though, it won't be done to the extent of DCS, but I have confidence it will be much more than iL-2 series.

Indeed, if they just release a revamped Il-2 in terms of system and engine realism, then it won't be for me. Managing those monstrous piston engines is half the charm for me.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

I'm sure SOW will be more than IL-2...much detail seems to have been worked into the sim, I'm hoping oleg does for WWII what Rise of Flight did for WWI and DCS have done for MW2...lol I mean modern war ;).

In an ideal world, ED would have enough people to develop two aircrafts at the same time. For example, one stream with simple avionic aircrafts (Su-25A, Mi-24, UH-60A, Su-27, Mig-29...) with cycles of one year, and another one with more complex avionic aircrafts (F/A-18, F-16, Mig-29SMT...) with cycles of two or three years and in which some improvements in the game engine would be done.

Unfortunately we are in the real world... :(

Any talk about what the next sim is?

Yes I already have A 10, but Im thinking of the future already.

Any ideas as to the next sim. Still the Apache? ( which is great incidentally ) Personally Id love a Hornet but I seem to remember that this would require a whole new radar map system for ground attack.
