Maybe they themselves don't know which aircraft they will be modelling. Chances are you won't get a response. It will be quite a while until the next module is announced, first there is the upcoming 0.9 patch, then there is the BS compatibility upgrade, then *possibly* a FC upgrade, so don't hold your breath just now. ;) Good, fast, cheap. I'm a rotor head myself, and was hoping for a new helo module, but I guess we have to wait some serious time for that. For now, I'm still happy with the shark though. In both cases, there's still a key difference, though: The F/A-18 and F-16 are true multirole fighters with significant air-to-ground role. The MiG29 doesn't have a real air-to-ground role. Alternatively, they could do F-15E followed by Su30. Better match in capabilities and role, I think. Hard to get a real even match in role, though; the USAF makes a lot of multi-role aircraft, the Russians make a whole bunch or more specialized airframes.

It's a desert, it's brown, has mountains, canyons, cities (real cities, I'm quite tired of tiny little hamlets), lakes, rivers... does it really have to be called 'Iraq' for you to enjoy it? The terrain is 100% identical to the Middle East conflict areas, except that it rains more in Afghanistan. But everyone I've talked to who was in the beta said that the Nevada map was like 90% functional, with some obvious failings in a few places. That this was four months ago and it's still going to take an estimated further four months to even get the product itself is a little distressing. Hopefully there will at least be some ED-made missions and a campaign to go with it. I guess it seems to us, the ones who have already purchased the sim and had the opportunity and privilege to enjoy the beta for sometime now, that ED is done with A-10C, but they are still in the thick of it, with the boxed version about to hit store shelves, another patch for A-10C and a Black Shark compatibility patch on deck...plus they have the Nevada map and the possibility of FC3 in the works, not to mention they have somehow already managed to start work on DCS module: "X". It seems to me, that they are very busy at the moment. Now, just from a marketing standpoint if you figure that Joe Blow consumer, who would like to purchase a fine flight simulator, but who is on the fence about getting A-10C or not, (absurd) finds out that his preferred DCS module "X" is on the horizon too soon, that might make him or her decide to wait and pass on A-10C in favor of module "X". That could mean lost revenue and a sad face for ED. I'm just as curious as you, but I don't ever want ED to have a sad face. I'm just guessing, but I think what it really comes down to is this...they're just really pluckin' busy right now. :D Edited June 12, 2011 by digitaljjd

I think the more info the better, however, I, like most others here am willing to wait for as long as it takes to see the next DCS through. But with the long periods of radio silence we experience here with such an active online community, one should expect any number of conspiracies and idle speculation; the human mind, left to it's own devices will start to create all kinds of crazy theories, as this 275+ page thread illustrates. IIRC it was restarted practically from scratch, resulting in a higher quality product. I believe luckybob9 explained it somewhere, but I wasn't able to find the post.
