When one voice rules the nation

Just because they're top of the pile

Doesn't mean their vision is the clearest

The voices of the people

Are falling on deaf ears

Our politicians all become careerists

They must declare their interests

But not their company cars

Is there more to a seat in parliament

Than sitting on your arse

And the best of all this bad bunch

Is shouting to be heard

Above the sound of ideologies clashing

Outside the patient millions

Who put them into power

Expect a little more back for their taxes

Like school books, beds in hospitals

And peace in our bloody time

All they get is old men grinding axes

Who've built their private fortunes

On the things they can rely

The courts, the secret handshake

The Stock Exchange and the old school tie

For God and Queen and Country

All things they justify

Above the sound of ideologies clashing

God bless the civil service

The nations saving grace

While we expect democracy

They're laughing in our face

And although our cries get louder

The laughter gets louder still

Above the sound of ideologies clashing

Above the sound of ideologies,

Above the sound of ideologies,

Above the sound of ideologies clashing

To post the youtube videos, do it like this if you want.

type then on the youtube video that you are viewing copy everything after the = in the url

like this =mD9Ma3KnOYg

then put [/ YOUTUBE] at the end

no spaces at all anywhere, I had to add a space between / and Y or you wouldnt see the command, you would just see an empty white box.

it should then look like mD9Ma3KnOYg[/ YOUTUBE] but minus the space between / and Y

if done correctly you end up with this.

Gangsta boogie on two turntables :gun_smilie:

PE are the bomb bumfire (lol at your nick :D). Hip Hop was the first kind of music I really got into as a kid. Thanks for info on how to post the video image too.....Christ, what a palaver! Is that really the only way to do it? I tried the 'insert image' thing at first then put in the YT URL but can't get it to display that way. Not sure if I can be arsed to go through the rigmarole each time lol. :)

These are some examples of my kind of Hip Hop (an auld b*stard of 37 now....truly "auld skool" lol). Testing, testing......123 :)

The invincible microphone fiend Rakim.

"Let the Rhythm hit em"

(great vid too lol.....an evil dwarf pimp getting served. What's not to love? :D)

"Don't sweat the technique"

Mantronix (+MC Tee)....."Fresh is the word".

Tis fresh indeed.

Roxanne Shante...."Have a nice day".

Dope.

I have all these on Vinyl (and loads more, Doug E Fresh stuff and old 'Electro' compilations too hehe), not for sale at any price. End of. :)

@Joey, Massive are just......Massive. Not sure if you saw my earlier MA posts, love em too. Never made a bad record. Not one.

Nice one chichlidfan, cheers. :)

For Joey, might like it. :) Massive with "Psyche" (Van Rivers + The Subliminal kid remix). Nice and trippy, always loved Martina's vocals too, sexy as phluck voice I reckon. :D

Noticed you like Nina Simone and some House music joey from other posts (me too :) ), so you might like this too. "Masters at work" (Legends) with Nina's "See-line Woman"

Cool. :)

Back to some 'gee-tar' and ting then.....innit? :D

John Martyn with an innovative Skip James Blues cover....Many different names and versions of this song (as per Blues tradition) but this one is "Rather be the Devil".

Great musician, great Soulful singer. Feck knows how he is not more famous than he is. noexpression.gif P*sses upon the likes of the Floyds Dave Gilmour and many others from a very great height IMHO. Gilmour would probably agree, if ye asked him and he was being honest. music_whistling.gif No less than Eric Clapton described John Martyn as "electrifying". He was not wrong. smile.gif

I think these lads are great too, back to more modern day. Radiohead with 'Reckoner' (HD). Well worth a listen, give it a spin and trust me yer lugs will thank you. :) Sublime IMHO and a great live version.

you're right about Massive Attack.

Nina had a fantastic voice and made some great music

I use to do a bit of DJing online for a few months.... until we were told to stop. 2hour sets nonstop.

it might be a little quite so turn it up and adjust the bass to match.
