sweinhart3 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 When talking about "simviation" I believe you forgot the "sim" part. You know: you'll get what the real aircraft actually use, not what you think is a "cool effect". If you want "cool effects". go here: http://hawxgame.uk.ubi.com/ The rest of of us will simulate the real world, remember what that means, and not consider the dismemberment of people as a "cool effect". The "beauty of simviation" isn't that you are able to see people burnt, the beauty is that we can simulate real life combat aviation and take our own understanding out of that. And I'll stop there. Dont be an asshole. Dismemberment was never a part of this sim. The point of my post is that you can drop any kind of simulated weapon without hurting anyone. The "cool effect" is the huge fireball it makes, not the people it kills. I think you need reread my post carefully before opening your mouth. EtherealN Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Actually, after an accident tonight while I was out bowling with my mates I find myself in difficulty about "being an asshole" as you put it. ;) Yes, it does hurt. Rest assured I did read. vrv Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I can see where this one is going...and yes Ethereal that quote is forever misquoted. I also didn't think that the A-10 used napalm. You could however just jettison the fuel tanks from a high enough altitude. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] EtherealN: I will promptly perform a sex change and offer my hand in marriage to whomever

snowman123 Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 The A-10A at least DOES use napalm. Not sure about the C hog tho, But I'm Sure it CAN carry, just not if it does. Doubt it. Cool to have tho. Any Idea About the center fuel tank? Be nice the have something to put on the centerline. Go ahead, Make it idiot proof, someone will just find better idiots...;)
sobek Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Any Idea About the center fuel tank? Be nice the have something to put on the centerline. The fuel tanks are never used in combat sorties, only for ferry flights. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
snowman123 Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 The fuel tanks are never used in combat sorties, only for ferry flights. Damn! So, are we gonna be able to put anything on the centerline? Go ahead, Make it idiot proof, someone will just find better idiots...;)

159th_Viper Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 A10's have never use napalm. In recent conflicts, Hornets and Harriers, yeah (MK-77) but never the A10. Frederf Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 That's the air force's air show "wall of fire" attack run. There are pyrotechnics planted on the ground and then the A-10 attacks dry. Personnel on the ground set off the pyrotechnics trying to time with the aircraft. It feels really hot to the face but it's supposed to simulate a bomb run or something.
Avilator Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Damn! So, are we gonna be able to put anything on the centerline? In the Modern Hog Guide, it says that the GBU-12 is infrequently hung from station 6 (the centerline). It also says that the TER (Triple Ejector Rack) can be hung there. The TER can carry "the full range of Mk 80 series LDGP bombs, including the GBU-12." It cannot carry GPS- guided munitions, however. I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Who can say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. -Robert Goddard "A hybrid.
