after doin the helicopter pit, and building a collective, long shaft cyclic, modding suncom split throttle and F15E talon controllers, i finally got a chance to play black shark and lockon

playing black shark, setting up multiscreen monitors, even setting up a touchbuddy external 7"LCD, i found that even with such an elaborate setup, playing black shark was not so fun.

but i do love building, and watching all the sim videos are cool.

i think the best time i had with the sims was getting on lockon 1.12 via hyperlobby, and flying with like a strike package of 5 A-10A, that was awesome..

(WHERE ARE YOU FEDEX)

anyways, i am siked about the upcoming DCS A-10C, Microsoft Flight, i decided to revisit the simpit world and i am now in the process of building TWO flight/driving chairs...

Hannibal,

Isn't any cockpit with TM Warthog's a fun cockpit?

You don't need and of this chair stuff. You've got all you need!

Really, though, that's a nice lil setup you have there, but I do get excited every time I see a TM Warthog stick .... I want it!

I've got questions for all the cockpit builders with their Warthogs in between legs. Sorry my english. Why don't you place the joystick a bit turned counter clockwise like in prototype A-10? 15 degrees as i heard. And is it ergonomical to install it between the legs vertically as is?

I'm telling about comfort for your wrists. I suppose the stick should be installed tilted forward a bit because dofighting pilots spend a lot of time with stick pulled back fully.

Just questions. Please answer if there is nothing to worry. Thank you.

Agree with you racoon. Real stick handle is twisted 13-15 degrees (can't remember the exact figure and missplaced my procractor) to the left. The angle 'forward' is allmost identical to the TM Hog, at least what I can feel. Turning the TM Hog though is no problem. TM SW enable you to change the handles degree versus from / back movement in the base. Just a matter of adjusting either the baseplate with new holes or build your own equivelent.

(no disrespect intended for Hannibals construction here, just a general observation)

Cheers

I don't quite understand what you mean here. Can you rephrase?

Sorry. What I ment to say is that the software driver from ThrustMaster will allow you to reconfigure the angle of up/dwn for example. i.e. you can twist the base say 10 degrees left while maintain a the original control axis of the stick. (i.e. twisted base then wount not affect roll rate when pushing the stick straight forward).

Yes, i've read about virtual axis rotation in TARGET manual. But the limiter that is square shuld be rotated the same angle inside the mechanics.

And once again. Don't you think, guys, the stick should be sloped forward some degrees for comfort for a wrist in most pulled back position. To remind you the warthog stick rotates in hand much more because of short rod of joystick. The real A-10 stick axes' of rotation is on the cockpit floor.

I have no Warthog yet and going to build same mini cockpit but disappointed by some issues.
