hello,

sorry about the russian version but i will let the community do the mod.

As it is not my native language it would takes too much energy and time to do it.

i prefer to spend my time on pure mapping work. :(

hello bucic,

the UV-26 buttons, are made of hard plastic and i found some interesting

aging effect with plastic that makes it delaminating like scale.

for the ir alarm warning buttons, i used the head of alarm buttons from su 22 pits.

if you have some references, it would be usefull.

To be honest I didn't like one of your previous works as it looked like taken from under water and covered in flour afterwards. With the BS HD pit you've toned down the exaggerated weathering much and I like it a lot. But for some reason you tend to put 30 year old buttons and control lamps there ;) What I'm truing to say is that the effects are uneven between the buttons and the rest of the cockpit. I don't want to interfere. I can only hope you'll go the path of the rest of the cockpi instead of bringing the whole cockpit to the old buttons standard.

I've sat in an out of service Su-22 and none of the buttons looked even remotely as used as in your last shots. I've also sat in an out of service Mi-24 cockpit. Guess what ;) I am no expert at texturing but if I were you I would discard every single picture of evidently eroded cockpits.

There are plenty of reference and walkaround pictures on the internet which show moderately used cockpit elements. Take a look at this picture http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/de/Helicopter_Cockpit_Mil_Mi-24D_Hind.jpg If you aim to make the BS cockpit look more weathered than existing Mi-24 cockpits than I have only a resounding "Why?!' :)

As for the lights, IMHO keeping the 100% reflections (to the point certain areas approach white color) makes control lights look bad. On the image below I've smudged one of the control lights a bit...

I have to agree with Bucic in the notion that the "worn and torn" is plenty as it is and wouldn't be amiss at 50-70% less wear.

Any chance of a texture layer over the Shkval TV screen? In vanilla BS if you have the Shkval on and at minimum brightness it becomes this uncanny black hole way darker than when it's simply off.

Doesn't look like you've gotten to the overhead caution lights yet. The vanilla lights always looked too perfectly even and rectangular in lighting for a bulb being a plastic box.

I think this cockpit is looking amazing, weathered buttons and all. I disagree with bucic. I think if he wants a cockpit done his way, he should do one himself. I like the way this cockpit is progressing. Besides, this is your cockpit Ricardo. You are the Artist. Do what you feel is right. Those buttons for the CM are looking spectacular.

@ RICARDO: do what YOU want to do! The screens are looking awesome!

@ Bucic: It is not difficult to edit RICARDOs mod once it is released. (If you get the permission to edit it)

I think there are other guys thinking like you so why you don't ask RICARDO if you get the permission, edit his mod and release a "add on".

I thought of that TBH. I stated at the very beginning that my intention is to suggest. I hope that got through. I know already that Ricardo has a certain aesthetics on his mind when doing cockpits and I'm not going to oppose it.

Besides, 90% of the cockpit looks amazing anyway :)

i dont belive some of you guys.... this guy is making awesome pit upgrades for free and you actually have the balls to complain?

seriously if you are not happy with what others do and spend they`re free time on you really should STFU instead of trolling around being negative.

man.....

btw ricardo... looks awesome :D

hey, nobody is being negative around here, its just constructivist criticism. Nobody is forcing RICARDO to make those changes, its his mod, and as you said, he's releasing it for free.

hello guys,

the references lights i have been using for lights :

if it is a completely different type in kamov 50, tell me.

some of the references i have been using for the weathering effects.

bucic, the choice of a weathered cockpit is an artistic choice,

i know that some, would prefer a brand new one, but as i used to work in modelling, in my mapping work i like to work this way.

3D is cold and by using theses scratches and "paint retoutch" i have the feeling that the pit looks more alive.

keep in mind that most of the time in flight you look at theses details from a certain distance.

it is important to increase a bit the scratch and weathering detail to have a global perception of them when you are flying the kamov.

Keep in mind that you are looking at still shots, i am flying with this pit for monthes and the feeling is really different.

"To be honest I didn't like one of your previous works as it looked like taken from under water and covered in flour afterwards."

mmm, bulcit wich pit are you talking about?

i will take a fresh look at it .:smartass:

thanks for all you comments, and i understand that with the high level of price that this addon will be released some of you could be quiet demanding...:D

Me prefer weathered, My kamov is heavy weathered. If i not realise my stupid idea to fly under bridge at full speed, at this time will have more than 600 FH. But got only some above 300 Combat Hours, this make my Kamov Heavy Weathered and i priciate Your Hard Work Ricardo:thumbup:

It's hard to get through with this decalration. Maybe it needs a third version already ;)

Please re-read my posts. I've never talked about brand new RL aircrafts. I only talk about exaggerations.

We'll see :)

Is it my nick name so horribly deformed?

I talk about some Su-25 cockpit mod. Maybe it was not done by you. But the love for the chisel, scratches and pastel colors was the same :sly:

Loving your pit Ricardo and can't wait :D

If Bucic had never pointed it out, I would have never noticed the threat warning lamps, but now that he has said something.....

Former military myself and well acquainted with these style of lamp covers.

The rest of the cockpit being weathered like you have it is dead on for these aircraft as they haven't built a new KA-50 in a long time. The lamp covers in question, by this age, are going to be a dark, dull red in color. They also will have a what's called the "haze effect" meaning that they'll no longer have a real shiny surface. Rather they'll be a bit dull. They'll still show when they are illuminated though.

Now, when I was in, hazed over lamp covers were actually sought after by aircrews. The pilots preferred them over new ones. Because of the haze, they didn't throw they're light all over the place when they were on, but were still easily visible.

Make it how you want it. I'm gonna love it regardless :D

Just wanted to clear up this little bit of "how they the lamps should look" :)
