Deadman

Recommended Posts

The story I got was it was not being use any more by a Lockheed Martin training facility and set out for the scrap company to pick up. One of their guys was going to rebuild it but did not have the time. I stumbled across it and offer the seller what he wanted and drove down and picked it up.

That and I have been activly looking for one for about 8 years lol so I guess i was lucky I had some money set aside and could take the time off from work and I have a wife That understands my Hobby and is will to travel a great distance with me.

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Aaaahhh. Thanks DM. Those outer top quads are some of the most undocumented pieces. On the way but not finished with my copies but shows I clearly underestimated the hight of'em. When/if possible, could you you take a pic of the bottomside of em, interested in how the 'linkage to switch' of the pull handles are solved in the SIMPIT setup

Cheers

Gus

If there was enough interest I could make several sets of the handles. The canopy jet would be more expensive with the push button release included. Housings could all so be made possibly.

Well what do you think the old strip decal was gloss dirty and on crooked. I wanted an orange yellow flat paint this is the closest to the markings on the Canopy Jettison handle I have found. Three coats to cover the black has produced slight ridges but perhaps some wet sanding will take care of that.I did not find any one to re anodize the red Extend boarding ladder so a coat of cherry red gloss for it and the Jett stored button guard. Over all I am very pleased with how these came out. the Flat camouflage black, cherry red Are Krylon the orange yellow is Rust-Oleums flat striping paint..I have recommended Rust-Olem Ultra cover Satin Granite before as a replacement for FS36231 for knobs. But it appears to be to dark for the cockpit winter gray seams to be a closer match to the cockpit color of the FMT

I have Two M.I.P so one will get modified and turned in to a C version This should be cheaper stronger and easier than making a new one.

Guys thanks for the kind words.

Looking good!

I guess you will stick to the C-version. So, how will you deal with the main instrument panel? Are you going to modify it or will you make a completely new one?

Cheers,

DSP

Should have left it like it was "used", however it does look very nice.

I would have preferred finding a replacement decal. The front of the anti skid switch all so needs refinished some one in the past decided to paint it with a brush. I would like these thes look original and match some what in color. it will get worn in soon enough.
