Distiler Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Can't install this last version, it says "Unable to install because a newer version of this product is already installed". I deleted previous versions but doesen't work. Registry leftover information probably, wich keys should I delete? Headspace Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Did you run the uninstall of the previous version? Deleting it won't work, you need to run the uninstall from the windows control panel.
Distiler Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Got it working, had two "TARS" in the program list and got a bit messed. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Legolasindar Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Im searching answer, but i not found, i tried use this app, but without results. - I have dedicated server for the TS3, runing TS3 Server, NOT CLIENT. Is updated to last version. - I not run DCS in a dedicated server, is running in my machine. I can use TARS in a TS3 Server (not client)? I need any special manually installation for run this? I intalled TARS last version (1.0.0 Beta 10a) in my machine and in the server dedicated of TS3. In my machine i set in advanced IP of dedicated TS3. My TARS indicate TARS Installed in green, pluguin is activated in TS3 client in my machine. In the dedicated server i installed TARS last version, i network i set 0.0.0.0, location teamspeak is set in the client version, but remembre i use server version of TS3, and if i try select my server version, TARS say me version is not compatible, and A-10C is fadeout beacuse i not have installed DCS in the dedicated server (i not use dedicated DCS for fly). What i do wrong? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
Distiler Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 You don't have to install TARS in the servers. Seems counter intuitive, but you just need TARS in DCS and TS client. And don't change any ip in TARS, leave default settings. AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Headspace Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 The normal TS3 mic key isn't muted. Nothing is done to stop you from using it.
Legolasindar Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) The normal TS3 mic key isn't muted. Nothing is done to stop you from using it. But when i in the A-10, if try speak with my normal TS3 key, other guys out of DCS can't talk with me. If for example are 4 players inside a missions, this players not hear others player out of missions. I cant uninstall tars it says "There is a problem with this Windows installer package.A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I try this doing add or remove programs. Really annoying i cant remove a program i want to remove. Headspace Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Apple: A couple of people have had this problem; what I would recommend is to check and make sure it doesn't show two TARS installations in your add/remove programs. If all else fails download the standalone package from http://www.excessiveheadspace.com/tars/distribution/TARS_1.0.0_b10a_standalone.zip unzip to anywhere and run the control panel from there.
Cowboy10uk Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Drat, A update for A10, and Sadly Tars has stopped working, I've tried doing a manual Install, and all files are where they should be, However Tars still says, Game Not found, and I've tried pointing to directory, but sadly it states no compatible version found. I know someone found a work around when we went from Beta 4 to Final, Anyone know where I can start to look. I love this add on which adds so much, its just a pity that whenever we patch, something must knock it out. I know Headspace has already given so much of his time to creating Tars, But its not fair to keep bothering him everytime we patch. Headspace Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 I am going to respond to the ED announcement that frequent patches with iterative changes are coming out by removing strict version checking from TARS so that you can continue to use TARS with each new patch. If incompatibilities are discovered, feel free to report. 2

Headspace Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Guys, Let me offer another reminder that the patch thing only affects the control panel and that you can continue to use TARS if you install it manually. If you patched, and had TARS installed, it is likely still there and usable. All of the instructions for a manual install are in the PDF that comes with the software.
Steel Jaw Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks buddy, many people won't want to delete registry entries to get around this. You dont have to mess with the registry. See above. Headspace Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 The latest beta is out and you can download it now. The control panel going forward is going to assume any DCS A-10C installation is compatible, so obviously if a new A-10C patch gets released that fundamentally changes things, you'll be at the forefront of testing that. But, this allows you to use the TARS CP immediately after a patch comes out. Have fun. 1
