Flight Qualifications Campaign

Congrats Sabre, excited to try the update Advanced Campaign. Is there an easy way to delete the original campaign so I don't have two versions of the same campaign showing up in DCS?

Given that other users may have a similar question I'll post my pm response to you here:

 

If you go to Settings, Apps and Features you might find a reference to the installer there.

 

Alternatively you can remove any of the campaign files from this directory (the .cmp file is the one that will show up on the campaign list) Change the drive letter to match your install path:

 

G:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Missions\EN\Campaigns

 

The new ED Store version is installed in a different path:

 

G:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\campaigns\A-10C - Basic Flight Training Qualification

If anyone has any problems with the MFM versions please email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we will help get you sorted.

Hi there,

I just bought the Advanced Qualification Campaign but it tells me that the mission requires activation. I went into the DCS directory and tried activate it there, but DCS keeps telling me that it needs activation.

 

Any help?

Campaigns don't work with injectors unfortunately.

Hey Sabre, congrats on the DLC release. I absolutely love your missions man. I assume you're going to release the tactical training as well. With that assumption, I would like to make a suggestion for the first mission. Instead of watching you land in a helo, and then listening to the FR explain what you'll be doing, why not have a mission where you fly from Kobeleti to Vaziani and have the FE explain the mission during the flight. You did a similar thing at the end of the Basic training. Taking off from Batumi and landing at Kobeleti. Just an idea for you to think about. Keep up the hard work buddy.

Hello,

 

I bought your Basic flight qualification campaign and just started it. At the second mission where I should perform a startup I dont even get into the A10. That means I start at the F10 map without the possibility to switch to cockpit view.

 

Any suggestions? I use the open Beta version if that could cause a problem.

That tends ro happen with modules and faulty activations. Check the A-10C module is active.

Make sure you have the A-10C Module installed via the Module Manager and what Gliptal said - make sure it's active.

 

If it's installed then you should start in the A-10C when the mission starts.

 

You can get the A-10C Module from here.

 

If that's not the problem I suggest a DCS Repair to ensure you have no corrupted files.

Thanks guys. I already tried to repair it but nothing happened. So i just deactivated all modules, and tried another repair and voila everything works now.

Hey, I'm playing your campaign now and am stuck at mission 1. Ever so often the tanker does not spawn. Do you have any clue why this might be the case? What triggers its spawn? Do I do something wrong? Please help as I need to do the start up sequence like 5 times and one out of it maybe the tanker is there.

Don't check for the tanker until you are airborne and headed to the RVIP.

 

The timing is such that the tanker tries to get to the RVCP close to the briefed time so you can do the rendezvous.

 

Fly the waypoints as briefed and then the triggers should fire properly.

 

We will retest the mission and see if anything has changed to cause the tanker not to spawn.

Thanks for your quick reply. What I do is I setup Tacan right at the startup. Might this be the problem? I also sometimes have the radio menue open which might cause interactions with the tanker as well. Furthermore I might not touch MSN000 thus I will retry by following strictly the waypoints. If the problem persists with your input I will get back to you. :)

 

Edit: By following the wps strictly as well as not cantacting the tanker via tacan to early it seems to work now. Thank you!

In the last mission of the advanced for target 4 he says to kill only the tanks. There are 3 of them which I killed. However it keep saying "nice pass, rengage" and after I land I got unqualified due to failing to kill all targets.

Also in the practice mission he wants me to kill all targets and not only the tanks.

 

I watched recon's videos and after he kills the 3 tanks it says "that's a kill" so I am guessing it's broken since some of the newer updates.

For AFT05 - Illumination Flare Employment try and drop when right over the target as the flares tend to drop straight down and we want maximum illumination over the target area.

Sorry if the message wasn't clear but you do have to kill all the targets.

 

The message regarding the tanks was meant to imply using the AGMs on the tanks only as they are tough to kill with the Gun and you will use up all the ammo and likely not kill all the targets if you use the AGMs on soft skinned targets too.

 

Here is the wording from the mission: "Target the tanks only with your remaining AGMs. You are permitted to finish any remaining targets using gun strafing."

 

If the FE is indicating re-engage then there are still targets remaining.

AMAZING, THANK YOU!!

 

I have been enjoying flight simulators since the floppy disk era. DCS A10C has been incredible and I have absolutely loved attempting to understand and operate the bird.

 

 

With that said..

 

 

Its crazy to start on floppy disk and to now have the HTC Vive VR headset. I am absolutely blown away by the immersion.

 

 

I can't thank you enough for this campaign and badge I received after completion!

 

 

I really feel like the campaign brought all my studying to a head and I felt the stress of passing a qualifying coarse!

 

 

 

 

VR Vive + A10C + Formation Flying/quals has been the most amazing climax of years of PC flight.. just awesome!

 

 

Please anyone, if you have VR..try formation flying.. you simply can't beat the ability to gauge your distance and track your flight lead!!

 

 

 

*Now I feel qualified to help beginners learn the a10c the right way. I would love to be an in-game flight instructor on basics of the a10c and flight. PM me! haha
