Warthoggers: Updated firmware released

Recommended Posts

@Gadroc Thanks but I think I've tried just about all my USB connections already. It seems to have worked for a lot of guys with a similar problem,

but not on mine.

I'm pretty hopeful that something will be sorted out soon but all I've had from TM Support so far, has been the auto receipt of my pleas for help.

Does anyone have a listing for the faults on the Updater. They show a link to a .pdf but it's blank??

Updated firmware with no problems...but can't say that I had any problems before other than the green x-mas tree after power down.

Still have the x-mas tree.....

System Specs

Homebuilt Core i7 965ee, ASUS Rampage IIExtreme w/ 12gb in triple channel config, Win7/XPSP3 Dual Boot, BFG 275GTXOC x 2 in SLI, HOTAS Cougar (#4097), HOTAS Warthog (#1657), Cougar MFDs (Velcroed to 17"monitor running MFD Extractor), CH ProPedals, Norstromo n50 keypad, G15 Keyboard

not much left in my wallet...

Spectre, it supposedly locks the firmware from inadvertant corruption. Even if you have not been affected by that yet, enough folks have and so TM fixed it with this firmware version.

As was said, though you may not need it now, if you ever do need it, by then it will be too late. You will have to send the unit back for repair.

Well got my new throttle from France after I sent mine to Canada. I went ahead and flash the new firmware just in case it needed it. All is working good. Wish I can get the lights to go off.

Glad it's working.

I'm pretty confident you'll be able to control the lights eventually. They are awfully bright compared to where I have my MFD lights set to. :O

Any news Loz?

Sorry but couldn't reply sooner as my ISP has been down for 36 hours and counting. (Luckily my wife has a 3G USB modem that's allowed me to get on and update.)

No reply from Thrustmaster Customer support as yet.

As someone else has put it, I have a £350 lump of useless metal sat on my desk.

Slight install problem: throttle and stick positions in windows game controllers were reversed. Solved this by unplugging both from the powered USB, then plugging them back in - throttle first. Worked like a charm. Haven't checked lights' behavior.

Problem #2: Can no longer use Mic Switch Up as my TS3 PTT. The button shows up in Windows and I've followed Stanger's instructions (several times) and no joy.

Problem Solved: Simple 'ol reboot took care of it.

Updated no problem. I never had a problem with the lights staying on though. After shut down of my system, I usually power off the PSU which will extinguish the lights. Now I do notice that now the lights don't come on until Windows loads whereas before just turning on the PSU in the back of the computer would light up the main green band at the front of the throttle and the the throttle switches and buttons would light up when windows booted up.
