Grimes Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 There are 1603 games on steam and 1197 of them are on sale. I know... I counted. However Black Shark is not one of these games. :music_whistling: Revenue through volume increase go! The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. 213 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 this is not one of those 5 dollars a pop call of duty games.
Bucic Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I bought BS during Direct2Drive 50% off sale :) F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
Jinja Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I nearly always never buy games until they're on sale via Steam (DCS is the only exception). Got Left for Dead 2 last week for £3.50. An absolute bargain! Pay £40 for Fallout 4??? No way, I'll wait for some 50% discount weekend.... i7@3.5Ghz, ATI 5870, 16GB RAM, win7 64bit, TH2GO, Track-IR, 4screen pit, TM WArthog HOTAS
Total Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I told Grimes last night that 95% of Steam users have gamepads - not joysticks. That being said, it wouldn't be a bad idea to tap into this Steam sale. Blackshark is already 2 years old (download form) and, although DCS:BS has infinite replayability and is ahead of the hardware curve in many areas, that two years makes it an ancient release in the eyes of most consumers. Having it and Lock On Platinum in the sale could really provide some additional exposure to DCS A-10C for possible sales. These days, game come and go in six months. Alot of players are looking for games that will give them more than a few months of bang for their buck. FC2, BS, and A-10 would do just that.
Insanatrix Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Also I would say that ED has probably tapped their usual fanbase so to get new blood a sale would help somewhat. I mean selling 100 units at 19.99 or so is better than selling maybe 5-10 at 39.99.
joey45 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Steam sale = evil.. example Burnout Paradise the ultimate box for £3.75. I wont even play the game.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
Conure Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Steam sale = evil.. example Burnout Paradise the ultimate box for £3.75. I wont even play the game.. Hahaha, I bought Just Cause 2 for £3 or so...Installed and never run..Never will be either! Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
213 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 why? i thought the point of buying something was to use it. otherwise you're just wasting money.
Grimes Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 Cause its so cheap could you afford not to get it now? The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. WynnTTr Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Yeah, I did a big naughty - bought Wings of Prey when it was on sale from Steam. Sorry, blonde moment. Steam is teh debil.
Rusty_M Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I love steam's winter sales. Great way to pick up a few enjoyable titles without spending too much. I'll admit I picked up Wings of Prey. I've heard mixed things about it from sim communities, but I don't mind the odd arcade flight. That all just depends on my mood. Sometimes I want to think, and sometimes I just want to mess about and blow stuff up. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
