Why does the end of Jan and the beginning of Feb suddenly feel like Christmas again lol

Remember the 346 Fire Fighters, Medics & Police who died on 9-11.......

Selective memory is a wonderful thing, especially when certain posts simply disappear into the ether never to be seen again, unless I have a copy of the original post copied and pasted into word documents and saved .... just in case :)

Great news! I think ED really have their release schedule right! How many companies seem to release shoddy work and then chase their tales patching it. At least we all know we have a Beta and that issues WILL be resolved.

Well done, ED!

I might jump in online but so far I'm limited to dumb bombs and mavericks, and of course guns. Aircraft to Aircraft comms I still have no clue how to use yet lol ..

Don't want to totally embarrass myself. :) But I'm itching to get online.

How do the voice comms work anyway between players in multiplayer? People using vent or something outside the game?

lonecrow66, I feel your reluctance to go online, my flight skills scare even me, compared to what i have seen or heard online, but in all fairness, we have to do it sometime. I know there are those who will Kill us before we even get A10 started..LOL, But there are those who will teach us as well..and once we are over the initial Fear... We also will belong to the squad of our choice, should they accept us, Then many more Friends and much learning as we get better with our skills. Hard to Jump, but I see it as necessary..cheers, Jim:doh:

Even if you suck at first, going online will have you learn 10x faster...either through help or necessity, the latter assuming you don't give up :D

Well, at the very least it will drive co-players towards getting you a nickname. It ain't going to be a nice one, though. :)

DCS:WH can feel like a really intimidating sim, but once you've "figured out" the whole SOI, SPI thing, and the cold start sequence, suddenly its feels alot less overwhelming (info overload etc) and you can actually start enjoying yourself.

As Celticcoho said, there will be plenty of ppl in squads/online happy to help...its why they are successful squads.

There aren't many of us in the 504 these days, but when we do fly (couple of times a week, usually on Friday/Saturday night at 2100z) we train each other on the bits we each know. Its worked quite well for us so far, though we all have much to learn. We're now at the stage where we're comfortable taking on layered SHORAD (tunguska, shilka, strela...not quite so keen on those Osas yet though), we just still need to remember those BMPs are nasty critters when we get too enthusiastic with the cannon ;)

Go online, don't be put off, you'll soon find a bunch of like minded and like-attituded guys to fly with.

The 1st VFW has embraced TARS 100% so that is the new comms standard.

If you're gonna fly online I will give you one piece of advice: skills dont matter so long as you imrove and fit in...BUT you cannot be a sucky cry baby, got to have a thick skin and be able to fess up to your mistakes and take some ribbing...just like real fighter pilots.

Not saying anyone here is a suck etc, just saying be a good sport and be able to laugh at yourself. Even pretend combat online can be stressful: there aint no pause button.

EDIT: interrupted by the PTVCW...there is no greater exhileration I know for a (v) pilot than accomplishing a mission with other human pilots...or even training with them like we are in the hawg right now.

Then start looking at your options, the 1st is a good mix of flying RL tactics but having a blast doing it.

The active duty requirments are lax as well.
