Spartan Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 i think personally this will help to solve alot of disagreements between people as to the amount of people that actually purchase this game to be apart of a online squad vs just playing solo missions. -Corsair Obsidian 800D -Corsair H50 -Corsair 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 -Intel i7 930 @ 3.99ghz -EVGA X58 Classified -EVGA GTX480 @2 In SLI -EVGA GTX 285 Physx -Silverstone 1500 psu -Logitech G940 (retired) -TM Warthog HOTAS -42" Sony X-Series 1080P LCD -17" Dell Acc Monitor @2
PedroTheGoat Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I definitely play online any flight sim that allows it. (that's as soon as I'm proficient enough to not feel like an idiot)
emenance Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 you will have to wait. bit torrent downloads have doubled since yesterday to over 100 peers. nomdeplume Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I think a poll in a discussion forum is going to be a little bit biased to those who are online-oriented. :)
Yoni63 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I'm strictly offline for now until I get a bit more versed with the Hog. It's not fair to other guys if I play online and don't even know the bird well yet. But as soon as I do.. it's all online baby! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]HP d5000T/Vista SP1/Intel® Core 2 Quad CPU Q9490 @ 2.66 Ghz 3.00 GB Ram/32 bit OS/Nvidia GeForce 9500GT.
Frogisis Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I just discovered DCS a few months ago and feel about 80% percent proficient with the Black Shark, and about 2% proficient with the A-10C (I can fly it and am pretty good at just eyeballing cannon attacks, and that's about it). I'll definitely be flying online, though, once I'm good enough to not embarrass myself or let down a team. Grimes Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Time spent actually "playing" the game for me is at least 70% online. Most of the time spent in single player was the tutorials and simple flight or weapons testing. I occasionally play through the campaigns in SP but would much rather do em as a Co-op than by myself. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Zomba Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 70-80% online. The single player is mainly testing, training, mission testing that sort of thing with the occassional mission, but the mission is normally to just test an idea for use in MP anyway. I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.
Rusty_M Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I've yet to fly online at all. I'm still getting into sims. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
Boulund Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I love flying online, no way better to improve flying skills and to have fun. I seldom play on public servers though, usually stick with friends. Spartan Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 I think a poll in a discussion forum is going to be a little bit biased to those who are online-oriented. :) but saying that, most need this very site to be able to take part in this sim, not to mention where did they hear about it in the first place? :smilewink: so there are very strong chances that they have and probably will in the future visit us here. -Corsair Obsidian 800D -Corsair H50 -Corsair 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 -Intel i7 930 @ 3.99ghz -EVGA X58 Classified -EVGA GTX480 @2 In SLI -EVGA GTX 285 Physx -Silverstone 1500 psu -Logitech G940 (retired) -TM Warthog HOTAS -42" Sony X-Series 1080P LCD -17" Dell Acc Monitor @2

Funkyjazz Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I do play some games online. Mostly on public servers. As for GTR Evo and Lock on its hard for me to go online because im afraid of screwing things up for teammates. It would be nice though if there is a serious(!) training server where you learn the protocols and how to fly online with help from some veteran. mavyalex Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 What about Online Training Courses for the A-10C? There would one or several instructors, and newbies and the insctructors would take off with each student to teach them LIVE a few things...Nothing better than a concrete application, don't you think? "Always check your 6 o'clock if you want to live!"

Great idea, I'd love to play online but at the moment Im just not good enough. Im hoping with a new stcik and some serious hotas training I might just get there :)
Rusty_M Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I've never played any flight sim/game online. I actually rarely game online at all at the moment, unless it's battlefield. Edit: although I plan to fly online once I get the basics down (although I need a bigger desk first. currently my joystick collides with my monitor!) The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
