Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start

Recommended Posts

I looked in the gui manual and the description just repeats itself. Could someone please elaborate on what happens if this is checked or unchecked.

Thanks

AFAIK, this works with the Thrustmaster Warthog. I do not think it works with other HOTAS.

It's purpose is to give the Warthog user the ability to have the game mirror the switch positions of the controller as you enter the Sim.

Should work with any old DX switch hooked up to an equivalent cockpit switch. No reason for it not to.

If I have a DX switch which is active when flipped hooked up to EAC ARM, the simulator can look at it on startup and set the EAC switch accordingly in the simulator regardless of if the switch is on my TM WH, custom switch in a home pit or a switch on a $50 El Cheapo joystick from the supermarket. In DX it is on or off, not labelled "TM WH".

I will test this with a custom panel prototype I have built.

This doesn't seem to work with my HOTAG Warthog. Does it work for anyone else?

Yes Andrew, it works for me.

Just so we are clear, enabling this means the game looks at the Warthog switch positions and then gives you a chance to sync the switches before you go "live" in the pit.

It should work with any Warthog.

What do you mean "it gives you a chance to sync the swtiches before you go live"? How does it give you a chance?

Not quite sure what you mean.

My understanding is that it should set the switches in the sim to be the same as the positions set on the Warthog. But you seem to implying the opposite?

yea it works really good when you start a mission in the air and you have the throttles set to off and the fuel switches wrong.

Ok, let me try this again, sorry for any confusion.

Normally you start a mission and it drops you in the pit, everything goes live.

Without this feature, you get what Tusler describes.

With this feature, you get dropped in the pit on a semi pause.

The cockpit switches are set to what the mission designer wants them at, and then you sync your HOTAS switches to sync with the Sim.

The world outside the pit is paused until you hit the Pause/Break key.

After the keypress, everything goes live...pit, switches and outside world.

OK, now I get it. And now I understand why I have to hit Pause twice to start a mission ...
