Anyone have an idea about this?

Try to extract the contents of the archive to some newly created folder first. Attempt to copy the files only after the archive has been succ. extracted. If it still demands adm rights try these

On your own responsibility of course ;)

Tried that and it did not work.. Even had the fellow member who made the skin, send me his complete file that we are talking about. That did not work as I only ended up with a partially skinned plane and planes from other squadrons were totally unskinned or unpainted. I'll check out the links and do appreciate it. Thanks

Fishman Has Arrived

After some struggles, thanks to Bucic (+1) for providing the link, I was able to get my new plane added and "flyable".

The excellent job of skinning was done by member hog_driver111th, (+1) (One shot McPeek) . Thanks sir for a quality job. I love fishing so it was decided to put a trout on the plane and the tail markings are a great addition. The RM is for my own squadron since I haven't joined one "yet". The designation of numbers have their own special meaning.

My crew chief is none other than my father. I flew with him when I was just a boy and though he has been gone for almost 25 years, he can now fly with me. Thanks again guys

same folder as normal skin textures...look for "a-10c_cockpit.bmp" and "a-10c_cockpit_nigh.bmp". Those are the textures for external views.

If you'd like to edit In-cockpit-view panels, the folder is..."X:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C Beta\Bazar\A-10C\Model\Textures\A-10C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip"

I'm having a hard time finding the texture for the pilots helmet.... Anyone know the name or location of this file? Thanks.

Heeeeey Mikeeeee, that's an easy one:

Look in the aircraft textures .zip; the file is "hgu55.bmp.dss"

Count it!

Fishman A-10 Update

My A-10 is now complete thanks to the good work by member hog_driver111th, (One shot McPeek) . What do you think of the mermaid? If anyone out there doesn't want to mess with trying to make your own skin, get in touch with Jack. He's too polite to ask for donations, but he deserved a "contribution" toward his "Hog Bank".

This is perhaps an obvious question, but where do you put the edited images? Pauls tutorial doesnt seem to mention that?

I have followed paulrkiii's guide, but I can't figure out how to actually select the custom made skin in the game itself. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

edit: Nevermind, found it :)
