herig2 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Its a beta. ED and their testers can not produce all the different combinations of OS, processors, videos cards, etc. and see how the program ( A10-C ) performs. It is up to the beta users to report back, in order so that ED can produce the best sim ever. I found that search is your friend. Fortunately each crash I had, I search and found that it had been reported and ED is working on it, and in some cases there was a fix posted. If its not reported they can not correct the cause of it. Don't give up please, first search the forums and if there isn't a history of it, then used the proper procedure to report the crash. You will be helping everyone 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
104th_Crunch Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 . It is up to the beta users to report back, in order so that ED can produce the best sim ever. Good attitude! I don't think the above sentence is correct though. It is not up to the public to report beta issues, and it is not the public's responsibility. Initially ED only wanted hardware issues from the public, but was kind enough to listen to other issues as well. So in the end, those that choose to report issues can if they like to help make a better sim, but it is not a responsibility. If I were responsible to report beta issues, I would at least want some perks. ED has internal beta testers. You simply get the bonus of a early beta for prepaying for the final release and the chance to support ED.

Umm, we are not beta testers....we're only playing the sim because we paid for it in advance. It's actually ED's responsibility (and their internal testers) to deliver a finished, preferably bug-free product to us. 1

Beta testers do a little more than just post problems they find on these forums. ;) Edit: Too slow Quirk.. LOL Edited February 7, 2011 by 26-J39
Quirkitized Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 We're not BETA testers? Gee, could have sworn I bought the BETA version of the game. You bought the final, retail release version of the game. Playing the beta is a nice bonus until the finished product is out. edit: got in before me...lol
airdog Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 How about we just let these people believe that they are beta testers and the only reason this sim will be fantastic is because of their wonderful beta testing procedures and reports. In the end we will all praise them and their efforts even though we all know that 99% of us have not submitted a thing that was worth a crap to ED because it was already known/found by the internal testers or it was known issue prior to internal testing. Boys....lets get over ourselves and just fly the sim and help eachother out where we can....ED will have the rest covered. 1 Airdog | Asus ROG Strix Z370-E Mobo | i7 8700K @ 4.7 | 32 GB DDR4@3200mhz | Gigabyte 2080Ti OC 11GB| Samsung M.2 960 Evo 250Gb and 500Gb | Win10 Pro | Hotas Warthog #02743 | Track IR 5 | Toshiba 47" 120hz LED | Acer 23" Touchscreen | HELIOS |Oculus Rift-S| http://www.blackknightssquadron.com/
The Ooom Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I'm just glad we are allowed to have access to the beta. Otherwise you have the frustration of waiting for the official game.... even worse! With all it's bugs, the beta is still a very good training school - use it for training to fly the A10 properly. Once the official game is released, you can start a fresh, bug free career as a fully trained A10 pilot thanks to all your beta training.

There are many an example where ED has listened to the public and used that feedback to enhance their sims. In A-10C there are examples that they have listened to the public's feedback. Sure, they may have known about many of those issues anyway, but I bet not all. You can thank the beta testers that have filtered the public's input to ED. It has happened. 1

I know of several issues that have been submitted from the Open Beta program and some issues that have only confirmed (but confirmed nonetheless) some issues faced in closed beta. Open, closed, whatever, hats off ED! Submit what you think is relevant in accordance with the guidance given. 1 Come pay us a visit on YouTube - search for HELI SHED

I never said it doesn't happen...I said 99% of us....that leaves a 1% that does submit and help the beta testing process. StrongHarm Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 1 It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
hassata Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 The beta angle is more about running the software out in the 'simulated' wild to make sure it works on all the disparate systems. That's why crash reports are so important. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
StrongHarm Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Problem solved... if you purchased DCS:A-10C beta with no knowledge that there would be bugs.. you're not alone.. read this .
