graywo1fg
An 8 person coop mission I immersed myself in and spent a few days creating. Big thanks to Grimes for unscrambling my brain answering my trigger questions. Have fun, use however you want. let me know if there are any problems.... I'll be working on it still to put in radio commands and such to have the invasion move even further into Abkhazia. But for now i just wanted a working one to share with the community. Check back periodically for updates. :) ---Download Link--- Updated mission - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84353 Multiple variants included- day, night, overcast, winter. --Situation-- The year is 2014.... Relations are strained once again between Georgia and its separatists regions. Abkhazia has become greatly angered over the recent improvement in relations between Russia and Georgia, saying that Russia is turning its back on them. Especially after Russia has stopped sending materials to Abkhazia also has pulled out their troops. That and the recent power grab in Abkhazia by a military regime leader, who for the past few years has vastly expanded the Abkhazian militia, building tanks IFV's and small arms faster than MacGyver! Also the regime is allegedly using violence against Georgians inside Abkhazia. South Ossetia is backing Abkhazia and insurgents from South Ossetia seem to be mobilizing.... All this has caught the eyes of NATO, who has begun supplying Georgia. Georgia is crying out for help from the international community. Saying that Abkhazian troops are committing genocide on Georgians! Any attempt by the Georgian military to cross the boarders to rescue civilians has resulted in clashes by opposing forces and mercenaries that the regime has brought in. NATO is now in Georgia with limited force, who with the Georgians, will invade Abkhazia. The US has brought up limited forces from Iraq including half a squadron of A10's and F15's for CAP. The brunt of air strikes an CAS will have to be carried out via A10's and Georgian Su25's. The NATO and Georgian invading force will have to rely heavily on air power and with limited aircraft in the region, there is a lot weighing on your shoulders to get the job done. Your job is to cooperate with NATO command receiving coordinates for airstrikes, interdiction missions, and to provide air cover to ground forces in Abkhazia with AFAC help if needed. Being able to enter lat long coordinates in this mission is a must. Oh yeah.... and Russia has said it would be a..... bad idea to cross the boarder into Russian airspace... so try not to. ----TASKS---- 1. Soften up enemy forces along the Abkhazian front at the waypoints. AFAC available. 2. Signal the friendly armor groups via radio commands to begin their invasion. If you do not signal the invasion it will automatically begin after an hour and a half. Friendly Mi24's are available from a nearby FARP. Call them in if needed. 2 Georgian Su25's will fly in after 40 minutes of mission start to help. 3. After the convoy is moving, HQ will give you random tasks to do. If you missed the tasking just ask them to repeat it in the radio commands. You can request 2 tasks at a time... it is possible to request more than 2 but the radio F10 menu will get cluttered. Updates will be given every 20 to 40 mins after a mission is issued for new players joining.... recommend pen and paper for coordinates. KC-135 Tanker is available as well. A10's take off from Kutaisi and Georgians from Senaki..... US supplies are available at Senaki for rearmament and repair. Bullseye is located over Senaki. ---FREQUENCIES--- All combat operations 124.5Mhz Tanker Frequency is 150Mhz Kutaisi is 134Mhz Senaki is 132Mhz IMPORTANT!!! CHAT MESSAGE COMMANDS!!! type these into chat to set a flag true in the mission... an alternative to the F10 other radio commands for if the host is not around..... Special thanks to Speed for providing the .lua scripting to make this possible :) "startinvasion" --- type this into chat to start NATO invasion "choppersupport" --- type this into chat to signal Mi24 support "requesttask" --- type this into chat to get a new task "getupdate" --- type this into chat to get mission update Edited January 18, 2012 by graywo1fg 3 Voice of Jester AI Death From Above =DFA= Squadron Discord - https://discord.gg/deathfromabove http://www.twitch.tv/graywo1f https://www.youtube.com/user/Lonewo1fg

Grimes
The voice acting is epic. Whoever made it deserves some decent vodka. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. graywo1fg
I Updated it. I added more movement and randomization around the front to increase variability upon multiple playings. So here is a question to any elite mission editors..... Is there a way to set a flag via multiplayer chat text? Since the host is the only one who can use the F10 other menu.... i want to make flags the F10 radio commands use, able to be set by chat text for non host players. Anyone have the know how? If so, me love them long time. -NFlight-
Just curious as to why the Host has to be the F10 guy? I run a dedicated server (at a Data Center) and fly remotely and would love to have it where the 1st plane in the list is "Lead"... A limitation of the sim? and I agree... the voice acting is awesome! mikey
I played this with cib and domino, and this is a great mission. The proper voice acting really makes this mission does give it an edge over the others. The only shitty thing about this mission was a Tunguska that shot me down while I was trying to drop a CBU :) Edited March 21, 2011 by mikey bleh I've got 99 problems but my Ekran ain't one

graywo1fg
Thanks guys! Glad some people are liking it. I'm away in Dallas until late wenesday. When i get back I'm going to implament a script by Speed that will allow each player to type commands in chat instead of needing the host to use the F10 other radio commands. Cant wait to get that put as it will be key for long runnings on servers the host is not around on. 1 Voice of Jester AI Death From Above =DFA= Squadron Discord - https://discord.gg/deathfromabove http://www.twitch.tv/graywo1f https://www.youtube.com/user/Lonewo1fg

Bahger
It's a terrific mission, and tremendously replayable because of the variability of target assignments. I've been running it solo (in a closed LAN server) as well as online with WarriorX, to practice coordinate data entry via the CDU. Now that I've got that down, my only remaining problem is...I have trouble finding the smaller targets like the artillery and the MLRS, even though my data entry for the mission point is acccurate and I'm competent with the TGP (including use of black and white hot modes). Can anyone recommend a method of scanning that might give me a better chance of finding these targets? How far off should I expect the coordinates to be? EDIT: On playing it again, I noticed that some of the targets briefed in-flight appear not to spawn in until the US convoy moves out and the ground engagements begin. For example, the arty I couldn't find earlier was now perfectly visible after I triggered the allied convoy before reaching the first WP. Still couldn't find the MLRS but destroyed the 3 of the first briefed artillery units with Mavericks and a tighter grouping of 4 at another location with a CBU-97, very satisfying. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the spawning. And let me say again, it is a terrific, target-rich, replayable mission. graywo1fg
I'll check on the spawning of Artillery... I cant remember off the top of my head if i set the option for them to spawn after the attack begins. But about the coordinates..... in the mission editor i would place the courser right over the targets, then get the lat/long and then have to convert to degrees minutes and seconds by taking the last 2 digits and dividing by 60, that coupled with the slight inaccuracy of the mission editor to represent the flight world correctly in the editor would cause the coordinates to be slightly off... which i think is ok, so flights have to search more for their targets.... I myself have not yet got the MLRS mission LOL!!! so i'll have to try and look for them myself. But i know they must be hard to spot because they are in an opening of a forested area and the differences in ground texture colors just love to show up as hot spots on FLIR, making target search even harder.... I could on that mission just go into the sim and possibly get lat long right on top of them... but that would make it pretty easy... what do you think? 1 Voice of Jester AI Death From Above =DFA= Squadron Discord - https://discord.gg/deathfromabove http://www.twitch.tv/graywo1f https://www.youtube.com/user/Lonewo1fg
Bahger
Well, one way to relieve the occasional needle-in-haystack target spotting -- when targets are in dense terrain or otherwise not either in the open or on top of their precise coordinates -- would be to incorporate JTAC, using an AFAC (like the Predator you already have in the mission) or a SpecOps FAC team. If/when a patch makes datalink work in MP, that'll be a great addition to this mission. Until then I guess it would work only for the host. EagleEye
Played this mission yesterday on STP server for the first time. Have learned about to enter WP, FP and Coordinates and could then try it in this mission. What a great experience! (we couldn`t find the MLRS artillery neither at that time, but some Inf, BTR80 ,ZSUs near the given coordinates) Deutsche DCS-Flughandbücher SYSSpecs: i7-4790K @4GHz|GA-Z97X-SLI|16GB RAM|ASUS GTX1070|Win10 64bit|TrackIR5|TM Warthog/Saitek Pro Pedals
mtuckner
If the coordinates are not pretty close to the target, I would recommend the general vicinity coordinates be accompanied by a physical description. IE Vicinity MN045487, large forest, in the clearing.
