Not necessarily. ED also started work on the AH-64 and a number of other aircraft, but it doesn't mean that they will ever make it into production. plus this interview is from 2008. A lot can change in three years.

I once asked for the F/A-18C, but with VRS Superbug + Tacpack and the Seven-G F/A-18 simulator out, and even FSX Acceleration, it might feel overdone.

 

Eagle Dynamics has NEVER done a tandem aircraft before, and its unlikely that will change. So F-15E and F-14X are likely out of the question.

 

Leaving... F/A-18C/E, F-16 bl.52, F-15C, F-35 or possibly an attack aircraft. F-15C has been done in Lock-on already, and has no air-to-ground capabilities. F-16 would be pointless because FreeFalcon/F4AF already offer that realism fora lower price. F-35 and the F-22 are simply "too good" and "too classified". Not enough attack aircraft have the "famous" status of everything ED has done before.

 

SO...

 

Prepare for DCS: Hornet.

It just makes sense, they would figure players would want something new, whether it would be comparable in fidelity or not. Besides, ground attack is EA's speciality and flying a craft with no A-G capabilities would be dull. Gun duels would be rare, it would be almost all BVR.

Actually no, they don't. They're fairly realistic in a lot of respects, but DCS: A-10C and DCS: Ka-50 have surpassed them in all but a few aspects. I suppose that might be nitpicking at this point though.

You get one plane per module. No variants, as far as I know.

BTW I reackon ED could make an F-16 addon alot quicker than any other addon considering the amount of information on the internet. Hornet or Viper either way its all good.:thumbup:

Just sheer A.D.D. on this end. I used to love moving mud but after moving it twice in a roll, Ka-50 and A-10C, I miss dog fighting. I cannot wait to do it in the world's most advanced flight sim from ED. :D

I know how u feel Mower but hang in there. They will when the time is right. Just think if they announce it too soon then it'll steal all the thunder from DCS A10.
