Thanks guys!

I prefer to keep the virtual windows monitor setting the same as the physical position (top-bottom). For me it makes it easier in other non-gaming programs when the mouse cursor moves from monitor to monitor "the way I think it should" ;)

I fiddled with your settings Loz and have everything displaying although some things seem a little big so maybe have to adjust my scaling (UHF repeater readings. Some of your x-y coordinates were off for me and some were spot on -- perhaps it has to do with monitor differences. But, I've got everything "in the window" and readable so that is super. Now just waiting for the radio interface issues to be worked through.

Really appreciate the help and also the work people put into making profiles and mods.

So far, I don't see any FPS hit at all with Helios running although I've not tried it yet on a busy field or over a large city.

Loz, are you working on your v2.0? If you need any help, just give a shout.

Yea Blaster As I said above, the positioning and come to think of it the MFCD sizing will be off as this .lua is for V2.0 which is coming along well but still hoping for Helios V2.0 before publishing. Thanks for the offer. :)

Jeff, I have not tried to export the CDU display since it can be sent to the MFCD. Maybe someone else here can help. I now have Loz profile running with the RWR, the 3 UHF frequency/preset fields, the digi clock, the CMSC and CMSP displays, plus the 2 MFCD's. In the air in the instant action mission, I get ~60 FPS with the profile running on the same computer as DCS.

It's working for me with Loz's profile (main monitor and 23-inch touchscreen position below the main). Only thing not working right now is the radio control interface and I believe Gadroc said that could be worked around by mapping keys (although that might be a nit painful). I'll wait to see what happens.

I can say that once having used Helios it's become like TrackIR and a good HOTAS ... indispensable! :)

Running with the high preset option and in the Easy East George Spring instant mission:

Running 1 screen & no exports: 44 fps

Running 2 screens & MFCD exports: 40 fps

Running 2 screens & Helios and all exports: 37 fps

I've not tried yet in a complex mission or over cities but I would probably selectively lower some of the graphics options. The above tests were with Win 7 Aero running. Will try later with Aero off.

5 frames seems acceptable. I'm running HT at the moment networked to a second PC. I've been thinking about building a Pit, and trying to decide how to get away with my current 3 screen Video card, and a second networked PC.

I think that getting the engine instruments onto the same screen as the MFCD is going to be neccersary to do this, hence the question.

The biggest problem stopping me at the moment is that there seems to be no way to offload CDU and CSMS rendering to a second PC, so you need to allow a whole screen for the CDU in particular. PITBLDR seems to have solved the Caution panel problem though.

I have a nice 1602 LCD screen for the CSMS which would do the job if I could get the variables out to it...

making your main screen HUD only while using helios will boost fps significantly (all instruments are there visible at all times anyway).

Hi Guys!

First of all: Thank you all for all your efforts and sharing your findings!

After installing 1.09, I am reconfigureing my Helios Profile with the given changes to the init.lua-scripts. It seems to work. However, I only see the CSMP_SCREEN (i.e.) only on my second (HELIOS) screen, but I would also like to see it in the 3d-cockpit in its original position. Same I want wor RWR and alll other displays.

The MFCDs however, are already being displayed in the 3D-Cockpit and on my 2nd-Screen.

So, how can I view the displays twice, in their orgininal position in the 3d-Pit and exported to the second screen?

in modified .lua scripts find the line "--render_purpose.GENERAL," (if using notepad++ for editing, it will show it in green color) and make it "render_purpose.GENERAL," (delete first 2 symbols), that will give you all working displays in cockpit view.

I am using this thread, because the issue seems to be related to the exporting of MFDs etc, and y'all are adept at it, and I can't figure it out....When I alter my multimonitor lua, many items/textures fail to appear.

The picture below shows Instant Action, at Steerpoint 1-there should be 2 trucks, but they don't appear. No ground vehicles appear, and the text is missing. Other random problesm pop up (e.g. whole areas underwater, A-10 wing has no textures) but I am only interested in the MFCD issue for now.

I had no problems prior to 1.1.0.9-all items exported perfectly etc.

Interestingly, I did not have to alter my MFCD location or size for 1.1.0.9. I don't know what is going on.

I have messed with in-game options to no avail. I ahve reinstalled game, and drivers... ANY insight appreciated.

It is definitely related to the multimonitor config, because the default 1 Screen config does not have these issues.

My multimonitor lua is = function(p) return p; end;

.. The picture below shows Instant Action, at Steerpoint 1-there should be 2 trucks, but they don't appear. No ground vehicles appear, and the text is missing. ..

this means you're having a bad install

>> save all your bindinds to 'save as profile' <<

delete or rename (as a backup) your DCS dir

delete or rename (as a backup) your <user>\saved games

reinstall DCS from the Full install 9 source files

<rebind - chk every binding, some (few or none) you will have to rebind>

when not editing <init>.lua's, your MFCD will be fine, all other you'll have the problems wiith

<P.S. Im contemplating returning to 1.1.0.8, I miss my exported CDU too much, until there's a updated EMC, I'll have 2 versions side-by-side>

Thanks for insight, I will try today. Weird, even with all these issues I WAS able to export my cdu to my touchscreen. 1.1.0.9 is a strange bird. I got all of the other exports (e.g. RWR CMSC/P CDU) to work eventually.

I'll let you know how your stuff worked, and maybe I can help export your CDU. I basically followed all the directions on this thread.

Nope, the complete reinstall to another hard drive did not work. Same Problem. I have even downloaded the game twice (torrent and FTP).

Same issue. My simple lua (BELOW) causes the vehicles to not be shown in MFD, and in-game.

I just don't understand what the relationship with the monitor lua to the textures/objects could be...I have found that it may be related to the screen resolution. When I set to 5248 x 1080 the objects disappear, and problems arise.
