epoch Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Great patch! Still a few minor issues (ATC still has OCD, AI can't taxi for sh*t, net ID still sometimes resets after takeoff) but on the whole it's much smoother. Thanks for your efforts!
VTJS17_Fire Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Yep. Great Patch! S77th-konkussion Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Got it installed, but will be flying a bit later due to beautiful sunlight shining into my office... wreaks TiR havoc unless I rig a complex light blocking assembly... flannel sheets, towels, etc... :D For ED's info- the regular posted links would not connect at all (HTTP 1 & 3: usa) I used torrent with no problem of course- but I wanted to pass that on. I'm sure they get plenty of hate mail when this happens... [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
ScEBlack1 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 ED thanks so much for a great patch and your outstanding attention to your product, it is rare to see such commitment and it is truly appreciated. Keep up the great work and you have my full support and commitment as well to keep purchasing your fine sim production.

VincentLaw Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I've noticed that alt-tabbing seems to be a lot slower after patching, though - related to the texture loading, maybe? For me, alt tabbing has been extremely slow since Beta, but with 1.1.0.7 its now lightning fast. I don't know if this was intended or not, but its definitely one of the best improvements for me. Spectre_USA Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 The biggest thing for me is the lack of CTD's. Prior to the patch, over this last weekend, I tried this one campaign mission, and on two separate occasions, in totally different situations, >bang<, Windows has... Flew the same mission this afternoon, nary a hiccup. It is just nice that when I get that slight hesitation, like when the armor you are CAS-ing for appears and radios that they are up, it is just that, a hesitation, and not a frozen game, with an Alt+Tab to view the death message. So far, so good, and am really liking it! I just hope the next one has Nellis... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] A tale of 2 hogs
stubboyo Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Nobody's mentioned it yet, but they finally made the mouse cursor auto-hide: "The yellow cross cursor will be hidden if inactive for more than five seconds" Having that little UI element in the middle of my cockpit always broke my sense of immersion and it seemed like such a simple and obvious fix.

MadTommy Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Patch seems to have decreased the performance for me... but this is a price i'm happy to pay for the MP datalink and reduced crashes. Its odd as others seem to be getting better performance.. some tweaking is needed on my side. My BIOS had reset itself to stock settings.. loosing my overclock. I just realised.. my fps has DOUBLED by simply going from 3Ghz to 3.6Ghz on a dual core E8400. Amazing. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. TM Warthog, Saitek combat pro pedals, TrackIR 4

StrongHarm Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 My hawg just performs better. You can especially tell with a clean load of 25% fuel and no ordinance. My pleasure flights are always in this config, and I can tell you that the differences between 06 and 07 on the physics and energy are night and day for me. I'm also loving the increase in spacial awareness I seem to have. Will my skin meld to my HOTAS before my wife makes me to take a shower? Viewers want to know... It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
SimFreak Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 After installation and launch, I get a black screen with background music playing and windows 'thinking' mouse icon. Tried reinstalling patch and it did same thing. Then in windows manager I noticed that it said application was not responding and in processes "launcher" grew to half a gig over short period of time. So, if you get a black screen, just let it sit there. It's doing something.
kungfoo Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Aw, now I just tried out my new graphics card with 1.0.6. And now this. I actually wanted to go bed at a sane time. But now... Can't do. Gotta try. If this is as good as everyone says. Damn. Best thing that happened this week. Thanks guys!!
kungfoo Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Damn, that stuff is good!! Flying this thing at 2560x1600 with something like 10 FPS more on average and no stutters is a totally new experience. Wicked.
Winters79 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Nice patch indeed. performance up with 20 fps all max settings :pilotfly: :joystick:
mtuckner Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Finally gave it a go with the new patch. I have about 8 frames a second at batumi vs about 40 before. Not sure what gives? Same graphics settings...

Kuky Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) for me performance with new patch is about the same... maybe little better but nothing major (Windows 7 64 Home Premium, i7 950@4GHz, 12GB 1600Mhz DDR3, HD5870 runnig 1920x1200 + 2x 800x600 monitors, X-Fi Titanium PCIe, SSD). Loading times for the game are up quite a bit and for me it's about 1.5min loading time now. It's not bad if you don't start the mission many times but testing stuff and having to start/quit many times is annoying for me right now.
