What a difference! I completely reinstalled simm as Wags suggested. Now missions time loading is normal (like before), and gameplay is real smooth.

Gonna try this reinstall procedure this weekend and see if I need to eat my hat.

Should be: Users/(name)/Saved Games/A-10C

You may need to run the sim once for it to be created though?

I have it here:

C:\Users\(name)\Saved Games\DCS Warthog

It's possible that you saved them in game install directory (C:\program files\DCS Warthog) ..

I did a full reinstall and really don't see any difference. Not that I was having major issues but the nagging issues are still present:

occasional stutter

losing HUD

AI voice comms don't appear to be 100% implemented yet?

Alt tab still causes text textures in the pit to disappear. Turn the panel lights on for a work around.

Clouds appear square sometimes, but it is intermittent.

The HUD graphics (numeric graphics) disappear but he lines stay. Then they just randomly reappear.

Progress is being made with each patch :)

If you have problems after installing the patch (like slow frame rate or crashes), please do a full re-installation. To do so:

1- Uninstall A-10C

2- For Windows 7 users, look in your /Users/(name)/Saved Games/ and delete the A-10C folder.

3- Reboot

4- Defrag the drive that A-10C will be installed to

5- Install 1.1.0.6

6- Install 1.1.0.7

7- Reboot

Make sure you are up to date with your graphics card drivers.

Also, make sure you have the latest DirectX and C++ versions installed:

DirectX (June 2010): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3b170b25-abab-4bc3-ae91-50ceb6d8fa8d

WOW! I followed your directions here and it did magic for me. Thanks Wags  I'm getting very smooth almost perfect performance..hovering around 55 - 65 and peaking at 90 fps! Airport startup taxi (with 4 wingman) was very smooth. I lost about 5-10 FPS with TGP on. Couple of times it went to 35.

Settings - All high, AA 16x, cockpit res 1024. Test mission - Kashuri Gap stock mission.

Now I'm off to :pilotfly: & :pilotfly: and blow some sh*t up.

I had my plane spontaneously combust a few times tonight... Once when I was taxing, and the 2nd when i was on my final approach about 4 miles out. Just, "BOOM". Scared the crap out of me both times!

Ah, you must have forgotten to safe the self-destruction device during startup. Better study the manual some more.

ya u really have to watch out for that self destruct thingy. whats it called? the destruct-O-tron i think.

The patch is great... i got lucky and just installed 1.06, then 1.07 and everything is perfect... i also bumped up my graphics and its very smooth with no crashes wOOt!! the occasional lag at AGM hits and a 5 second pause when a MP player joined but thats it.

great job guys!

Glad the longer loads times are intentional. I just upgraded my rig (see my sig) and they had me wondering if I did somethng wrong.

Yep I did a full reinstall yesterday. 99% of the freezes are fixed, and loading times are back to normal. :)

I hope it's not required after each subsequent patch...

So you're running patch 1.1.0.7 with normal loading times (pre-1.1.0.7)?

If so, do you recommend I do the same?

Thanks

I'll just add my voice to the re-install from scratch crowd.

With updating .6 to .7 I had alot of stutters and freezes.

I downloaded the 1.1.0.7 stand alone and uninstalled the original after backing up joystick profiles.

After a fresh install of .7 I am stutter free....load times the same if not just a bit shorter.

Awesome work guys!

Thanks guys, I think I will give a fresh install a go.

One more thing, I can back up my log book and use it on the fresh install right?

Did the whole uninstall thingy and reload thingy just like Wags had instructed and noticed no difference at all. Ran a test mission before and afterward, load times were the exact same and FPS where also.

Putting this game off for the next year, or at least until they fix the framerate for machines that don't have an i7

FWIW, I'm not having any framerate issues here, and I have an ancient PC (bought it 2006 and it hasn't seen any upgrades since). Perfectly playable on medium settings, and only a little bit less FPS than Black Shark.

Flying it form first beta. There were some problems with FPS, now almost gone. And I'm far from newest machine (look at my sig). What are your specs? My SP setting are down, for campaign I lower some of them. Screen_110408_214401.jpg

Did the whole thing Wags mentioned. No change in FPS. Putting this game off for the next year, or at least until they fix the framerate for machines that don't have an i7

Same,

Pretty old machine by todays standards...

If I set everything up High, its a bit of a jerk-fest, but if I tweak down a few items to Medium, it is smooth as butter, and barely distinguishable graphically from setting high.

...It's of course personal choice, but, holding out for optimisations at this stage is a fools game...the game is very optimised already.
