Jona33 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Does anyone else think that DCS should include paratroopers who could jump from select aircraft like C-130's or An-26's? I think that it would really help make ground battles more interesting if you could have a small force landing from heli's and then a load of paratroopers dropping from a cargo aircraft above. Am I crazy or is this a good idea? Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
DetroitDieseL Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I think that would be a DAM good idea..:joystick: If you want peace, prepare for war.... America's Armor Dev Notes AARM on Facebook Help Fund AARM
Shinigami Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 well I don't see the benefits but sure why not!!!! the aerial battleground is more important and still has lot of improvement to add. La guerra, asi como es madrastra de los cobardes, es madre de los valientes. Cervantes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Nasder Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I think this can be simulated in the game using triggers. You won't get the eye candy of having parachutes in the sky though. Have a specific aircraft fly over the area and use triggers to activate a group or two maybe three of infantry on the ground. Can do the same with all kind of infantry drop off. /Nasder, "I came, I saw, I got shot down."
Jona33 Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 I know but unless you explain that they are paratroopers then it will just look like some randomly appearing infantry. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
[FD]Ripper Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I think its a good idea! Paratroopers increase immersion!

Scruffy Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 That was disappointing. I was just trying to create a high-octane Hollywood style insertion of enemy paratroopers in a battleground via a hovering helicopter. I couldn't pull it off. A quick google search latter showed me that this isn't possible... yet. Qui volatum expertus est caelum deambulabit spectans quia fuit ibi eoque redire vult.

pdmarsh Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Did a search to see if the C-130 can drop paratroopers and found this thread. I'll add my vote to those who think this would be a great addition to DCS World. Revan Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I would totally love to see this as a feature. Then with the WWII stuff, we could do a sort of D-day (of course we would need the landing craft). DCS: F-4E really needs to be a thing!!!!!! Aircraft: A-10C, Ka-50, UH-1H, MiG-21, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, A-10A, Su-25, Su-25T, TF-51
