RiscCS Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) Hi. As stated above i´ve got a strange problem with the F-Keys. Because i´m using the easy radio comm the F-Keys has to be used for radio communication. But: F7,F9,(F10),F12 are blocked by TrackIR5! So e.g. it´s not possible to exit the radio menu correctly. I´m using the latest TIR5 Software 5.1.3 Win7 64bit If i try to start A10C in Admin mode an error message appears preventing A10C to start. I´m not at home right now, so i´m unable to post the content or screenshot of the error message. Track IR 5 SW is already set to Admin Mode. My buddy uses the same OS, same TIR-SW,also A10C Steam Version and has no problems. He runs A10C and TIR also NOT in Admin Mode and has absolutly no probs, unkike to myself :( And the big question is: Why does it happen only on my sytem and not of the buddy´s one? I knew that this behavior should not happen with the latest TIR-SW anymore.... 5.1 Final * No changes from Beta 3 5.1 beta 3 * Fixed non-active profile hotkeys interfering with game hotkeys Unfortunatly it doesn´t work for me. Has anyone a solution? Edited May 10, 2011 by RiscCS
nomdeplume Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Change the hotkeys in your TrackIR profile. Disable the ones you don't actually use, and make the other something else. The only hotkey I actually use is to re-center the device, which I have on Ctrl+/ - not sure if it's the best choice for DCS but it doesn't conflict with any key commands I actually use in the game.
Ripcord Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 ndp, I was having the same issues, I will try that control + / also. Thanks [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
S77th-konkussion Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) You need to Go to options, select a key that is not important to you in the sim- clear that key. Example: number pad 5 then assign that key in the TiR software. Caution- make sure you're ALWAYS using the SIM categories. You can mix things up messing with game mode. cichlidfan Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Bump. It seems that no matter what I use for TrackIR hotkeys once the sim is running they're ignored. Is your TIR set so that the profile is "Exclusive"? At the top of the TIR profile tab, above where the hot key part is, there is a check box for exclusive. To the left is a pull down with your profiles in it. Select your DCS profle in the pull down and then check the box for exclusive. The pull down is greyed out now and can't be changed. This makes it so that all games/sims will use the one profile. If you look, everything on thie titles tab is greyed out now too. Also, I use all three hot keys. I mapped pause to <Backspace> and the other two to <Ctrl><Backspace> and <Shift><Backspace> and, so far (got TIR about a month ago) it has worked perfectly. I use Wags profile, but changed the hotkeys. This is the only way I ever got it to work. Hope it helps you. Edit: I just looked close at the pic above. It's under the yellow line but the exclusive box is checked. Crosser Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Trev. It sounds like you have the same problem I had. I'm running W7 with UAC on, DCS A10 in admin but TIR was not being run as admin and I could not get any of my hotkeys to work. Once I started running it as admin everything worked perfectly. I did however have to completely redo my profile because once I ran it in admin for the first time it erased everything

Speed Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Try the "exclusive" step. You're missing something- cause it does work.. No it doesn't, not in all cases. This is a known Track IR bug. This was a bug with some versions of the Track IR software. It would lock out your F keys no matter what you did. I had the problem myself for a few months until I upgraded my software, after which, the F keys finally became usable while track IR was running again. Keep in mind I've had my TIR for like two years and am a technically capable person. One day, after installing the new TIR software that allowed my TIR to be used with 64bit A-10, I started getting this problem. No matter what I did, TIR would intercept all F keystrokes. Furthermore, other people in my squad who have had TIRs for even longer than I have reported the same issue. It's simply a bug, and no amount of fooling around with the settings is going to fix it. The only option is to install a newer version of the Track IR SUCKware, in which this bug was addressed. My Track IR, until just a few days ago, would never remember my exclusive profile settings. So every goddamn time I would load my TIR, I would have to manually select my profile, adjust my sensitivity settings. I'd also always check the "Exclusive" box for good measure and hit save, but I donno why I bothered because it did nothing. But suddenly, just the other day, my TIR started with "Speed Main Profile" correctly set as my exclusive profile? WTF?? So the points to this discussion are: 1)Natural Point sucks at programming 2)Try newer TIR Suckware if you have problems with current suckware and uhh... did I mention? 3)Natural Point sucks at programming Edited June 28, 2011 by Speed Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Speed Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Do you remember what the minor change was? I'd like to see if I can duplicate this accidental fix. Otherwise I have to alt-tab to center, etc. I believe my camera was acting up, so I selected the camera tab and changed my camera mode from precision to standard (which helped a lot with the issue I was having). The TIR suckware refuses to remember this setting, however, but at least "Speed Main Profile" is now my exclusive profile. Para_Bellum Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) I'm having the same problem with my TrackIR 4, the standard TrackIR F-keys interfere with DCS. I've setup a new profile in the TIR software and ticked the "use exclusively" box, but I still can't use the "default" keys in DCS and the TIR software doesn't let me change/delete the default profile. I'm using the latest TIR software (5.1.3). Any ideas hpw I can fix this issue? EDIT: Gaaaa... found the solution 1 minute after posting... simply delete the default profile via Windows... :music_whistling: Edited September 18, 2012 by Para_Bellum
311Gryphon Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Bump. It seems that no matter what I use for TrackIR hotkeys once the sim is running they're ignored. Make sure when TrackIR is running that it has the right profile. Mine keeps pulling up the default profile even though I have it set to run a different profile with different hot keys for DCS. That may not be the problem but I've struggled with it as well. http://www.youtube.com/user/311Gryphon i7-8700, 32 GB DDR4 3000, GTX 1080 TI 11GB, 240 GB SSD, 2TB HDD, Dual (sometimes Triple) monitor, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
