Lame. I have a free weekend and was hoping to waste it on setting up 1.1.0.8. Figures, Friday the 13th and all...oh well.

You could just play 1.1.0.7. I hear it's very fun.

Maybe perhaps I heard the same thing, perchance? I was refering to having time to set-up/tweak the sim all over again...as I am happy to do, and have had to do with each patch...but the try a change, exit, restart, step and repeat takes a lot of time, for me anyway...time that I won't have next weekend. That is what I was referring to, I always have time enough to hop in for a joy ride. So even if it makes the projected release next Friday, I'll still have to wait to see my fire indicator lights come on as I crash and burn some time after.

Maybe I am missing something here (or I am a rather easy fellow to please :) ), but why does each patch need the setup/tweaking that you go through? I cant really say that I have done anything much to the sim/files since the release version. My framerates are acceptable to me, got my HOTAS setup the way I like it, not sure what else I would have to tweak.

I save the lua and cgf that I'm fairly certain won't change and re-apply them, e.g. the Input Folder in Saved Games, the 3 Monitor Lua, the modded Scripts for the various exports, SnapViews etc.

1.1.0.7 banashed me to the nether reaches of stutter hell.

For more info, feel free to glance here.

I may try that this time around, but I'd venture a guess the lua and cfg files will be different.

"Reduced probabilities for cockpit random failures. Random failure for gun and CICU was added"

Seriously? I was hoping we were moving away from these unexplained random failures.. not adding to the possibility of more things breaking for no reason.

Other than that, :) this patch looks to be stellar.

Sorry guys it looks like we forgot to add this item to the list - 'Option to turn random systems failures on or off'. Matt will update the change log.

К чему стадам дары свободы?

Их должно резать или стричь.

Наследство их из рода в роды

Ярмо с гремушками да бич.

I cannot deny your support being no less than spectacular. However something on my wish list that I and many others have always wanted is the game to have SLI/Xfire support and multi core support..

I understand it would be a major overhaul but multi core support would fix everyones performance issues as it is bottle necked at the CPU. Furthermore it would future proof your engine.

oddly enough just because a program can use 4 cores doesn't mean it's using them effectively. Granted you can possibly seperate the different systems like physics, avionics, ballistics, sound, graphics.. etc into seperate threads and then hand those off to different core's for processing. A big problem you run into is when one thread needs something from another thread that isn't finished.

Say for instance the graphics thread needs an update from the physics thread on where a missile is so it can render it's position. That's rather a simple task but imagine what the phyics thread is doing processing all the calculations and roll angle's etc... You would basicly be in the same position you are in right now with apps that use only 1 core. So yes all 4 core's can be used but is it really any more efficient than 1 core?

I would have to say that their would certainly be a noticeable difference. Evident where if you monitor your CPU usage 1 core is at 100% where the rest are idle. That in itself would suggest its wanting more. Furthermore if you overclock your CPU the CPU remains at 100% while drastically improving your frame rate which indicates it is bottle necked at the CPU. In regards to resource management across the cores that is up to the devs to optimize. But I have no doubt that multi core support would improve performance.
