Im sorry ED, as amazing as the Warthog is, I'm loving the Black Shark that little bit more :smilewink:

I'd also like to say a hi to everyone here after lurking for a good few years, and of course convey my immense gratitude to ED for producing such gems as the above.

That said, regarding the 'hog, once I get my hands on a decent HOTAS setup my opinions may be subject to change :P

Again kudos to ED, and to everyone else who makes this community what it is; awesome.

Regards,

Got the Hog and TM WH too, but I have to admit I launched DCS A10C only once so far (1 month ago) to make sure everything works fine and haven't flew it yet nor finish to read the manual. I am flying BS everyday though, multiplayer.

Once you know about what to do, you´ll love it...promissed.

Blackshark has it´s good moments, but A-10C has more of them (my mind). The real fun starts once both is able to fly together in MP.

I'm still going to be a rotorhead myself. Just the feeling & immersion of staying close to the ground, stalking targets - love it.

A-10C is still a notch up the ladder regarding simulation, workload etc, but I'll always come back to the Shark when there's a new patch.

The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

Same, I love the Shark more than the Hog. I'm really just waiting for the compatibility patch for the Shark. I do like learning the systems for the Hog though.

Well cutting in on the BS love-in, I hate it, I have it, bought it, never fly the Shark...too much analogue, poor sensors (no FLIR...are ya kidding me???), more of a target than a stalker IMHO.

Loving the Hawg.

I'm torn between the two myself. I've had BS almost since it came out, and finally started getting deeper into it a couple of months ago. Now I've got A10 (the Warthog has always been one of my favorites!) and am trying to learn that while keeping my BS skills sharp (butterknife sharp, that is!).

As much as I'm enjoying the A-10, there's still a lot to be said for sneaking in at low alt to wreak havoc. It seems like the heli gets you in the mix a bit more whereas the A-10 seems a bit...sterile? It also seems like Black Shark takes a bit more sheer piloting (at least for me). In contrast the Hog seems silky smooth. Even landings have been a breeze, but I've flown fixed wing sims exclusively for years and BS is my first helo sim.

Do not think of the Shark as a flyable.......Think of it as a 100% All-Terrain IFV.

Don't get me wrong, I think that ED has really excelled themselves with the hog, but there is just something cool about creating havoc in an airborne Russian tank, despite its limitations.

Those limitations also come in handy as things to blame when I inevitably get whacked by SAM's/A2A/ or any other unpleasantness lol :P

I just can't wait to see what else ED can conjure up in the DCS series (something eastern please!)

Black shark is more relaxing because you can take your time and crawl along or hover. The systems don't have to be used in a rush.

I'm sure with more hours A-10 will become second nature but there just something soothing about creeping around in the shark.

Lol Viper. My thought exactly!

And I love its weaknesses and imperfections too. Yes it's an 80's technology, full of analog gauges and big switches, it is slow, vulnerable in some cases, no A/A capabilities (although I already shot a couple of Mi 24 with a pair of Vihkr) and that's just great.

Again, don't get me wrong, A10C is a fantastic achievement from DCS. Gorgeous, complex, ultra realistic. Heck I even bought two licences! I am pretty sure I'll put more effort in learning it. But a good chopper sim like BS is what I was waiting for since Longbow 2!

Make me sad though sometimes to see how much love ED is putting into its new baby while it seems like the Shark is being let down.
