Guys, does anyone know the approximate cost of the Nevada terrain for the idiots like myself who didn't pre-order. I definitely will next time. Also will it be available anywhere other than the DCS website?

As far as I know this has not been made public yet, so the only thing you are likely to find would be speculation. It'll cost as much as is deemed required to cover development + a little profit on top, but where that will land I wouldn't have a clue.

You're all just blowing smoke up our a$$. :cry: Scenery is scenery. It's the same game, same explosions, same flight model, same sounds, same clouds, same vehicles, just a bit of a different mesh on the ground.

 

I'd love to see an upgrade to the terrain ENGINE all together. Fix the water, how it looks lower than the terrain, fix the clipping problems when you fly close to it, get some more autogen buildings, different kinds of trees, etc. THAT's what I'd love to see for an add-on that you have to pay for.

 

(I know this is the part where I get burned for being a picky flight simmer, but in all seriousness I'm gunna buy the expansion either way :lol:)

I'd love to see an upgrade to the terrain ENGINE all together. Fix the water, how it looks lower than the terrain, fix the clipping problems when you fly close to it, get some more autogen buildings, different kinds of trees, etc. THAT's what I'd love to see for an add-on that you have to pay for.

 

This map initially started as a 3rd party effort that we hoped to include in A-10C as the location for all training missions. However, due to a number of reasons, that effort stalled and eventually our Minsk team had to take over the project in order for it to get it done (luckybob is still involved and assisting), with a high level of quality, and using the updated terrain/DX11 engine (such as use of clip maps).

Odd because I still get it in 1.1.0.9. I know "most" of the higher altitude lakes were fixed but there are still areas (rivers mostly) with the same problem. And the clipping issue I'm not 100% about, it was still there in .8 though.
