PeterP Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Yes- I already made a comment about the missing readme - you have to look it up directly at the download link . But he has updated the download the last couple of hours and now there is a Readme! http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/86353/ CEPEGA Yellow colored left and right windshields for the cockpit view like seen on real A-10 (Readme.txt added) unpack the files and put the .dds file of your choice into the "A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip" wich is located in "DCS A-10C\Bazar\A-10C\Model\Textures" before replacing, make a backup of your original files, so you can go back if you don't like the colored windshields. There are three types of windshields: a: - standart yellow colored windshields b: - less colored windshields than type a c: - less colored windshields than type b (nearly not noticeable yellow color) Have fun and enjoy! JAG Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Hi guys The first time I saw a colored windshield was in an F-16 and the whole windshield was orange, and with this mod only the left and right side is orange, so that generate a few questions. What is the idea of a coloured windshield and why the warthog has only lef and right windshield coloured? mig29movt Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Gold really? wow, however what is the idea of the coloured windshield, does it improve visibility? It's evaporised onto the surface, it should reduce the radar cross section of the aircraft IIRC. The cockpit glass works as a conducter, which either absorbs the radar energy or doesn't let it pass onto the sharp edges of the cockpit interior. But I'm no expert in that... JAG Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Funny I would imagine many thinks but never that it will reduce radar detection. And when you mention sunglasses I remembered something I've been asking myself during the first LockOn series... why developeres don't include a view with the dark glass of the pilot's helmet, it will be really usefull because the sun in the game really hurts the eyes. joey45 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 ^^ That's a good Question. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. CHSubZero Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I tried installing this mod, and followed the readme, but couldn't get it to work. Is it compatible with 1.1.0.9? I've installed it yesterday with 1.1.0.9 as told in the readme. For me it worked successfully. Looks great! I've used windshield B. Just goto the given directory, open the ZIP file with your ZIP application (winzip, winrar, ...). Rename the original files to "....dds.orig" and copy the new dds files into this zip file. Ready :pilotfly: Aviation Livery - Explore Military Aircraft Liveries My Mods: DCS User Files

Sn8ke Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Razorback, google he mod, here in the forums there is a discussion thread. I had the same problem as you, and a few pages into the thread I found a zip file available from a user who corrected the mod so only the left and right screens were tinted.
